Yogurt to Young Hollywood. Hey, this is Doug Brown from Safety Suit, reporting for Young Hollywood. We're on the set of our video shoot for our new single Get Around This. As you can see behind me, there is plenty of people in the water freezing to death, all in the name of music and video combined. Come on, let's take a walk. So, we are uh filming a underwater sequence right now where they're actually getting people uh onto rafts. I think they're about to fall off. I'm not 100% sure. I'm not going to promise anything. But uh this is all in preparation for the big uh video release on VH1 forget around this. As a band, Safety Suit likes to try to create something that's fun to watch and I think this video is going to be fun to watch. You and I, we had it all. I wonder why I let it fall.
Hey guys, Jessica Smith here at the set for Safety Suit's new music video, Get Around This. Tell me a little bit about what's going on tonight.
All kinds of stuff. We have to keep some of it secret, Jess. I can't give you like the whole the whole kitten caboodle, but I will say that I will be on a boat.
Be honest. The only reason you're not telling me is because I was late. I mean, let's just let's tell the truth. Let's get it out there.
What we're probably going to see right now is mixed clips between when I was doing, when I was when I was doing this, and you weren't there and I had to do this myself and then you now have shown up and and it's making it a lot more efficient, I think.
I know. I'm like I'm feeling like there's a lot of pressure. You're already on the wire as far as getting fired. But, yeah, I'm punishing you. You're not you're not going to get the scoop because I gave it myself. I asked myself the question already. We've got it in B-roll. Doug, what's this about?
Well, let me tell you. I want to talk about Howard Benson because
Oh, good. Yes. I think he's amazing. I think everything he touches turns to gold. Tell me about working with him on this album.
He's got the Midas touch. Howard is a genius. I think would be a nice way of saying it. He um he has this perfect balance of letting the bands let themselves kind of express themselves and then he's like, okay, here's where we can make this great. And that's why you have a producer. You have a producer that can make you better. And Howard does that. He's he's pretty incredible.
Yeah, no, I feel like anything that he touches, it literally is like, oh, okay, it's it's a hit now. So that's why I'm like, it's it's going to be a hit no matter what.
Yeah, we're we're we're very fortunate to have worked with him and we got to do actually a couple more songs than we thought we would. So, maybe we'll have a couple of of hits. What do you think?
I mean, I think so. I mean, this one has already been ranked number two, like right under train, which you just got off the best cruise ever with. Yes. How was that?
To be on a boat with a bunch of great bands that you love is cool because you can go watch them and then you go play your show. And then everybody that's on the boat, obviously, wants to see your show. So there's no uh there's no downside. They're all excited. Everybody's excited the whole time.
And I know you got a lot of free stuff because the backstage artists lounge was there. Yes. And what was your favorite thing that they gave you?
They hand out some very interesting things. I will say that. There, you know, there's the typical clothes and and all that, but there are those amazing hats where you have spiky blonde hair and you put it on. You know, you know what I'm talking about?
Oh, yes. Yes. I own one. So, you know. Oh, totally. We'll tell me about your like uh single that you think that is possibly in the works. It's going to be your second one out.
Oh, second single.
Yeah, I'm putting the pressure on now.
Yeah. Now he's doing the interview. This is some this is some tough journalism right here. Barbara Walters, what? I don't know. Yeah, never heard of her. Uh, let's think here, second single. We did a song with a uh with a guy named Ryan Tedder. Some people know his name. He's a uh world class producer. Beyonce and um he's the lead singer of One Republic, obviously. And um known Ryan for a long time. We did a song called Let Go with him. That's definitely a second uh a second single contender. And then we have a song called These Times, which we did with Howard. So, those two songs, I think are probably the front runners right now. These Times and Let Go.
Awesome. Well, see, I got some scoop from you. So, there we go. I did my job. Yes. Awesome. Well, I will let you get back to your music video. And thank you so much for actually talking to me cuz I was late.
Amazing. I would do it all over again. Take it from the top. Hey, this is Doug from Safety Suit, and you're watching Young Hollywood.
