I wish that I could be like the cool kids, like the cool kids. Right before we play, I typically run cold. So I start running in place so that I'm not freezing on stage, because when I'm freezing on stage, I can't perform very well. So I'm running in place, basically getting lots of exercise right before I go on to build up the energy and to make it so I'm not freezing on stage. And um, we all pray that nothing goes wrong. Sometimes the answer is no, and that's okay. But when the answer is yes, that is awesome. living life without knowing. And he says, I wish that I could be like the cool kids, because all the cool kids they seem to fit in.
I wish that I could be like the cool kids, like the cool kids. Hello young Hollywood. We are Echo Smith and welcome to our backstage diary here at Club Nokia. I think uh some of the positives of being a family and being a band is that uh you get to know each other ahead of time before you're getting into playing as a band, doing all this crazy stuff. Well, when I was two years old, I had my first performance and I mean it was at a church, which is semi-typical. I mean, I don't know what club would let a two-year-old sing there.
So I know I always kind of gravitated towards guitar and there's guitars all over, so it was kind of a combination of like my dad would show me things, like friends of his would show me things. I remember playing drums when it's all drums in the house and I just wanted to play them. Now you have a common goal and you you love each other and you really care about what you're doing and you're passionate. All all four of us, we're very passionate about music. We're passionate about what we're doing. The fact that we get to do it together is pretty great. For tonight, we have a whole wardrobe set aside. We are not wearing it all right now.
But I'm wearing this because I wanted to and we're just doing sound check and it has pockets, so that's fun. I think some of the most important advice and you know, suggestions we've learned from other musicians and artists was uh really to care about the fans and the fans, you know, they bring you to the place you are and they give you the success that you you're given and they're a big part of everything you do and to keep that in mind and to treat them that way is very important.
