What's going on guys? It's Nicole Katch for Young Hollywood, hanging out at Employees Only LA. I'm about to crash New Hope Club's release party. I'm really excited to see-- Oh! Look who we have here. Blake! Hi. How are you?
I'm so good.
Good. Do you wanna meet the boys?
Oh yeah, I'm so down. Let's go.
Yeah. Let's go. You're the bartender tonight.
I am I am the bartender. I'm gonna be part-time playing, part-time bartending. Um so, I'm gonna be checking those IDs and making if we could get a drink. I'm gonna make you a Reese's Now, it's based on the classic mojito. Yeah, yeah. Right now, right now I'm gonna wake up the mint. Ready? Oh! Are you ready for this? The alarm's going off. Ding-dong. Oh yeah, fresh-picked today. I picked it up this morning. Picked today, picked today. From your garden back outside? Yeah, Seven today. So just gonna stick that in there. Okay. Doing good so far? So, okay. I'm already in your way. And then we're gonna stick some of this in. This is a grapefruit soda. Ooh. Um okay, we're gonna stick some of that in there and then we're gonna add about two seconds of this. One, two. I do this to all my customers. I see my eyes. What's that move called? Uh I'm just flicking lemon juice in their eyes.
Oh, that's really nice of you. Woah! Oh! Shock. Do you see the shock factor? Oh wow. That looks refreshing. That looks really nice, Reese. So, is that mine? Do you try all your drinks you make?
Oh, it's too much. If I was making lemonade. That's a good one. I'd give that a six, it's not terrible. I think he's getting now, it looks better. It's better with the straw. Yeah, cause you get it's cause you get more of the mint, I think.
We have the Reese, the George, the Blake, obviously, for you guys. Can you guys tell me why you picked these ingredients specifically? Favorite foods?
Um, I like a more like savory. I'm not really into sweet drinks, so I think that's why I chose this one.
All right, what about you guys?
Um, I like orange juice and I think it would be quite cool to have orange juice in a mocktail. And it's very sweet, mine actually. I'm like the opposite of Reese's. Mine's quite sweet. Oh yeah, with the apricot purée. Oh, granadine as well. Yeah. Nice. Sugar overkill, really.
Yeah. I went for a minute. The uh, like a piña colada kind of thing, because I thought if you're not gonna have alcohol, it might be still taste nice as a drink. Right. It's kinda sweet. I kinda like sweet stuff. Bit like a smoothie.
Now that we've made the drinks, we're gonna go show you where we do our meet and greet.
All right, let's go. Cool spot. Let's have a Followin' you.
Meet and greet is what we like to do.
Ooh, look at this.
Welcome to our meet and greet room, everybody. This is actually in the theme of our album front cover. Three, two, one, pose. Oh, I don't remember what I did. I was like that. I chopped this up this morning. Yeah, we made these all yesterday and this morning. Yeah. Took us so long. Look how good these are. We made these. We actually should probably give credit to the people that actually made them. Thank you guys very much for that. Yeah. I was thinking that somebody for some real hard work and we're just claiming it. Uh real real real velvet. Silk.
New Hope Club. Congratulations on your latest single.
Thank you.
Let Me Down Slow featuring Rehab. It's a fun one.
It is. It's very fun. Uh Rehab featuring is a great DJ. We got him on board. Very talented guy. He's spiced up the song. He gave it a really cool vibe. We shot the music video in Japan, which is very cool. It's the first time we shot a music video in Japan. Yeah. Um yeah, we're excited to play it live again.
Did you guys get to try any like fun foods while you were over in Japan?
We like sushi, so obviously in Japan, sushi's the number one. Yeah, the best miso soup I've ever had. I'm not even lying. Incredible. It was like 3 AM in a bar.
Do you think you've had the best miso soup? Have you ever put soy sauce in your miso?
Pardon?
Soy sauce in your miso? You should try it.
Yes, yes. I've done that. Been there, done that. I've done that. It's lovely though, it's really nice.
So tell me a little bit more about the single itself. Like the story behind the lyrics and all of that.
Well, the lyrics of "Let Me Down Slow" are all about um, a relationship coming to an end. Um, you know, you're sensing something that's like going wrong and she's changing or he's changing or whatever. Um, and you know, you're the last request is to to please just like let me down slow. If anything you know, don't just cut it off over the phone or whatever, just like let me down slow. But the song itself is actually quite contrast to that. It's actually quite happy and everyone dances and sings along. So I think it's cool, you know, the contrast of lyrics to how it how it sounds, you know. You lookin' deeper and it's actually quite a sad song.
I was gonna say your dance moves in the music video, those are fun.
Yeah, that was our choreography as well, you know. It was
Was it?
Spirit of the moment. We thought, you know, we kind of like, we like doing karaoke in a bar in the scene and we thought, let's Let's put some shapes in there. We actually do. We actually do. We do karaoke. And then the girls in the actual video, what they called, you know, the P- P- P- Poise. Yeah. They they got out there. We put them out there and uh shoulder. You've gotta love the shoulder. Any shoulder like whatever that is. Coming up from all angles. Simple but effective. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Conor McGregor. It's just one shoulder or both? Oh, we do two. Two. Two. There you go. You guys got it. Two. We don't even need music to do this. It's pretty difficult, but you know, we've got it. So we've been practicing for a while.
I'm gonna dare you guys, just keep doing it while out. Woah. Yeet! Just fell off the roof. Is this is haunted, he said? Yeah. Oh, sh! Is it? Wait, this is a great time for some ghost stories. If there's a New Hope Club fan in here, please make a sign.
Oh, I can feel it. It's not here. He's not he's obviously left.
Reese felt it.
I I got something.
You did, you get?
Oh, no I didn't. No. It's just chilling. Oh, someone just touched me. Oh my God, was that you? I felt that. I felt it. Okay. Right. We're on a tangent.
Okay, so speaking of Rehab. Awesome collab. I want to know, what are your other dream collaborations, each of you?
Um, we get asked this and a lot of the time we just like, we want to write with a lot of people, but don't know like about actual collaborations. It's it's more like we want to get in the studio with someone talented like, you know, like obviously like Ed Sheeran and uh and all those guys. Um, but actually we're huge Beatles fans, so I mean, to get in the studio with Paul McCartney must be insane. So if that could one day happen, who knows? Who knows? Dream big.
So your album, first of all, let's rewind a little bit. Your album's coming out on Valentine's Day. Thank you for that sound effect. Um and there's a song on there there's a song on there, "Love Again" that opens the entire album. Right? And you recorded it at Abbey Road. Okay, so tell me about that.
Um it was all, you know, we recorded at Abbey Road, which was kinda cool. I mean, honestly, just walking in there and just like seeing all the stuff that they used to use, like all the pianos. Oh, please guys, please. Honestly, just only got five minutes. Um and like to see all the pianos and all the mics that they used and everything like that, we were just kinda like in awe of everything. Like hoping that anything we touched like kinda rubbed off on us and we were just like kinda like the whole time like woah. We took a photo and recreated an exact not on the not on the crossing, on like in the studio of like George, Paul and John, I think it is. And it's great, so check that out. And yeah, it was amazing. Honestly a dream come true, obviously.
So the song "Love Again" is kinda like your darker, heartbreak, right? More emotional type of song. So I want to know, best cure for heartbreak. What do you guys think?
A cup of tea.
Music.
Family.
Oh, good ones. What kind of tea?
Breakfast tea. English breakfast tea.
So do you make milk with that?
Yeah.
Okay. You have to put milk in tea. That's that's the usual standard way, right? With milk. Okay, that's what I thought.
Yeah. Milk, tea bag, hot water, tea bag, milk, sugar if you need it.
Is it like a deal-breaker if someone doesn't want to make tea for you?
Oh no, cause you can make it like really milky and you can make it like, I mean, I'm not really. I like it quite dark. Um but a lot of some people put like milk in first and like. No, no. For some people do that and that is just wrong. You're you are Yeah. That's the that's the real heartbreak. If someone makes it like that. That that would break my heart.
Really quick, because we are on the topic of love, I want to get your guys's dating advice. So I have some dating advice questions. Okay. Here we go.
First one. Do you believe in love at first sight?
Yes.
Yes.
This is a quick fire round, isn't it? It doesn't have to be but you guys all set up like you want to be quick fire. Yes. Okay, grab around with the mic. All right. Okay, next one. What do you do when you get ghosted by someone you really like?
Don't care.
Unfollow.
Block.
Block. Wow, across the board, those are the same. Okay, what do you do when you have feelings for a friend and worry it'll ruin the friendship?
Hasn't happened, but cry. I don't know. Um, write a song about it.
It's good song, though. Get you. What do you do when you screenshot a conversation, you send it back to that same person on accident?
Airplane mode. Oh, I can't no, no, no. You just go, oh, look at you. I can't believe what you just said. Like, look at this. I just I just try and before it sent through, airplane mode instantly.
Oh yeah, that's a good one. So has that happened to you guys before?
Yeah.
Yeah. 100%. That quite a few times. So you just gotta own it, right?
Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it's everyone knows what's happened at that point. You just throw your phone out the window. Yeah. It's like if you're in a car, it's like [sound of car screeching] One of the boys had my phone. Sorry.
Oh, that's a good one. That's like a school classic. That's like a pocket send. Screenshot. Hashtag pocket send. Well, thank you guys so much for hanging out. This was awesome.
