How do you feel?

My buddy's Florida Georgia Line. We've been we've been hanging, playing shows, writing songs together for for a little while now. So kind of feels kind of feeling home.

Yeah. I'm sure. And the stage is probably like home too, right?

Yeah, it's uh looks similar to the ones I've been on before. So with those guys, so yeah.

Well, I know to talk about Florida Georgia Line. You're your song with them up down. Obviously, just killed it everywhere. So I want to know, how is it like working with them specifically?

It's cool, man. They've uh They've been like like family to me from from day one almost. You know, I moved to Nashville in July of 2015 and met those guys about six months after that and they've just uh they've been real supporters, real believers in me from pretty much since the day we met. And you know, I know they they could have put their energy that time into anyone. So, I feel pretty grateful that they, you know, that they chose me.

Did they give you any sort of advice that you've been taking?

I mean, yeah, I think they just, you know, keep your head on straight, that kind of thing. You're destined for greatness if you don't if you don't mess it up, that kind of thing. So, I I I I try I'm a little bit wild sometimes so they just, you know, try to try to rein me in.

Are you wild? Like what? Tell us. Tell us stories.

No, it's not. It's not fit for young Hollywood. I promise.

Oh, come on. We can handle it. We'll just have to come see you on tour then, yeah?

I think so too. All right. Well, because you did collab with them. Who's the next on your collab list? Who do you have your eye on?

Oh, man. I really like Kacey Musgraves and I liked her before she started winning Grammys and all that. I've been saying that. That's how people they like to deliver that. I liked her before that. I've been saying it for a while, but I I don't know. Let's see if I I really like a band called the War on Drugs, but I don't know if that's going to make sense with country music. Okay, that would be cool, though. Eric Church is my favorite country music singer. So if me and him could do a song, that would be like dream come true. Dream come true. Yeah.

All right. Well, we're talking things into existence. So if you're watching, he wants to collab with you. Come on. Okay, so what's like a huge tour essential for you? You always have to have?

Yeah, it really is. So, I enjoy that. Um, Nah, but I mean I do like beer. Um, but oh, music like a rolling studio. I love to make music while I'm on the road. So, you know, we make sure you got some speakers, a couple of amps, a couple of plugins and uh, some some guitars. And if you got that, then I'm good to go.

But what are you up to when you're not making music?

Well, I'm usually making music. I've not had uh much time to do anything else lately and that's by my own choice. I I love it. Um, I really love it a lot. I like to fish. So, if I'm not doing music, I like to fish. I like to go home and see my family. I don't get to see them that much. So, I go home every time I get a chance. We're actually going to be in in New York and Boston this weekend. My mom's never been to New York. So, I told her just hop on the bus and meet me in in New York. So, I'm flying to New York tomorrow and she's going to her and my dad are going to be there. So, I'm really excited about that.

That's so fun. Tell her to wear a snow jacket because it is freezing there right now.

I hope she checked the weather. I didn't I haven't really talked to her about it, but I think she did.

And lastly, I've been asking everybody this question tonight. You write songs about love. So, if you could give me a general piece of love advice for the young Hollywood fans, what would it be?

Right now, stay away from that. Stay away from love.

Really?

That could be a good piece of advice depending on how you take that. My manager is like, say that again. Just do that again. Uh, I could say, man, I think if if you're going to be if you're going to consider something, you know, that you that you think is love. I think for real, give it all you got, you know? Don't don't halfway do nothing. I've I've never really believed in halfway doing anything. So, if you uh if you find something that you think is worth that, go to the deep end, man.
