We wrote a song called back together, which became sort of the blueprint for what this album was going to sound like. It wasn't until I wrote that song that I realized that I was going to make this retro sounding record. Um, and in terms of like authenticity, I I think that, you know, I write what I know. I write what I've been through and I think that's like, if there's any tip for a songwriter out there, like that's all, that's all you should do is really just write the truth, like write what you've been through because people will find that accessible and authentic. It's uh, it's been a wild tour and, you know, touring with, with, with guys like this, you build memories and stories and you, you, you guys become a family, a mini family on the road and uh, it's uh, those are memories you you cherish for a lifetime, for sure. I just worked on, you know, my lyrics and and my melodies for years, really, and and still do, but um, I think the natural evolution of things, you get smarter, you get wiser, you've been through more. There's more to talk about, there's more to write about.

And I think musically, as long as you allow yourself, um, to keep learning, um, you just do get better. And I think that this album really, uh, is sort of a highlight in my career and is my proudest musical achievement. Uh, you know, I think you can really hear it, you know, this particular album has this sort of retro theme, this sort of late 70s, early 80s, soul, funk, pop sound and uh, to me that era for that sound of music was was at its best and we tried to sort of, you know, pay a little bit of an homage to that time. And I worked with an amazing group of producers, The 11, who were able to help me sort of crystallize that sound.

And uh, like I said, I I'm definitely the most happy I've ever been musically as an artist with, with this album in technicolor. My girl's super bad. That's fine.
