Welcome to younghollywood. com. Hey, Young Hollywood. It's Michelle Marie and we're here backstage at the Hollywood Palladium with Gary Go.

Now the first question I'm going to ask you is, who is Gary Go?

Who is Gary Go? Well, Gary Go is me. I'm a singer, songwriter, producer guy from London, England and, um, I've just brought out my first album, which is called Gary Go. This is a very positive record, I think. It's about a feel good album. It's kind of about finding the light in the dark. It's what this album is about. And it's about growing up and those kind of things.

Your single Wonderful is doing wonderful.

Say I am. Say I am. Say I am wonderful. Wonderful, a song about hope and telling yourself you're wonderful about self worth and that kind of thing.

We need that. You have a very unique approach to your stage presence, especially by sometimes not even using a band. You just virtually use your iPhone.

That's it. Sometimes we've done that. Yeah. I was doing some shows on my own and I started getting into some of the music stuff that you can do on on the phone. I mean there's loads of cool stuff. You know you can plug it up to a speaker. There you go. That's one man band really.

So when you play with your iPod on stage, what happens if someone calls you or messages you?

Well, that can be pretty embarrassing. Mum, I'm kind of in the middle of something. Dinner's ready.

Has that ever happened?

Uh, it has happened. Actually, yeah. It actually happened when I was playing at the Apple store. I think someone did it as a joke. I don't know, I just like rediscovering the song, my songs kind of in different ways and trying to play them using different things.

You also have a unique approach to songwriting as well. You interact with Twitter and people give you some ideas for your lyrics.

We got on the Twitter for a collaboration with my fans. Um, I took some Twitpics of a heart shaped balloon that I found in a tree outside my window. And it was trapped. So these pictures kind of inspired my Twitter base into writing some lyrics. I said, send your lyrics and we'll write a song. So the first Twitter song co-write on a on a song was that one.

It's so cool that you give your fans that experience.

I think that's cool. I think be part of the process, you know, and I think it's interesting to use things like Twitter and all these kind of cool networking opportunities as as more as ways to collaborate. Right. As opposed to like, I'm in the shower, I'm going to get a sandwich. Like that kind of thing. You could do maybe more with it, you know? I'm interested in that.

You're here tonight with Mika. Phenomenal person to be touring with. How does it, how has it been with him?

It's been great. We've had a great time. It's really cool that he asked me to come on the road with him. His show is like off the hook. It's like crazy. And I've been doing like an acoustic kind of set opening up for him. And it's been great. It's great to be here in Hollywood.

Now, another thing that's great about you is that you've had so much experience, especially touring with Lady Gaga. We've been following her career for a very long time, from the very beginning actually. And we just want to know what it was like being with her.

Oh, we had great fun with the House of Gaga on the road in the UK and Europe. And uh, it's just, I mean, amazing show. They pulled on. I watched her show every night and became a bigger fan than I even was, you know, before we went on the road.

How did you first come together? When did you guys meet?

I met her in London. Um, we were doing a TV show, the same TV show and our dressing rooms were opposite each other. And a friend was like, you have to come and meet Lady Gaga. And um, and so I went in and said hello. She wasn't actually wearing anything at the time.

No. She loves not wearing being in her underwear. She always talks about that. She wants you to meet someone like that, you know, there's no inhibitions. You break down the wall.

What influences do you draw from creatively when you do your writing?

Just everything I see and hear really. I mean, I try to soak up everything. I'm just a big music fan.

Now, other than you and Mika, who is on your iPod right now?

Kings of Leon, you know, the Bowie, 9 Inch Nails, The Killers, The Beatles, Radiohead. Radiohead, love them. Pink Floyd. Bit of the old, bit of the new, bit of the middle.

If you were to actually pick one person from the past and play with today, who would you love to bring back and collaborate with?

Wow, that's a good one. Maybe John Lennon.

John Lennon. Yeah. I could see it. Yeah, I think he would be a pretty cool person to collaborate with.

I wrote Wonderful on the piano that he recorded Imagine on.
