Young Hollywood

Welcome to Young Hollywood. com. What's up, Young Hollywood? I'm Tatiana Diana. We're hanging out with Fefe Dobson on the set of her music video for Ghost.

Fefe Dobson

You're like a ghost. I caught you. Now I know. Now I know why you're never there. Not a tear. Watch me disappear.

Young Hollywood

So, the song is very catchy. Tell us a little bit about the concept behind the song and how you came up with it.

Fefe Dobson

The concept is basically dating a guy and he cheats on you and he gets caught. You decide to run away and, you know, say it's over and he loses his mind because he misses you so much.

Young Hollywood

So, what's the premise of the video? Is it actually acting it all out?

Fefe Dobson

Yeah, basically, I catch him cheating, making out with another girl, and I freak out. I leave. I pack my stuff. And he just starts tripping out. He just can't get me out of his head and he sees me everywhere. And it just makes him go crazy, basically. And I think a lot of people can relate to that 'cause, you know, a lot of times you you miss it when it's gone, you know, and you can't get it back. So it's karma.

Young Hollywood

So, a lot of people, I'm sure, are dying to know. Music videos are very exciting, very glamorous. How is it on the set of a music video?

Fefe Dobson

Sweaty. Very sweaty. Uh, music videos are great if you have great people. And I do. I have amazing people around me that make me smile and tell me I look good. Or if I don't look good, tell me I look really bad. Um, but mostly I just have a great team.

Young Hollywood

I know this is the second single off of your album. Do you want to talk to us about the feel and the vibe of the other songs as well?

Fefe Dobson

Yeah, you know, the whole album really relates to relationships or like situations. I tend to write about love, just because I live through it all the time.

Young Hollywood

So do you write a lot of your songs yourself?

Fefe Dobson

You know, I, I love to write. I, I tend to write in my journal all the time and that's a lot of times how things come out. But I love to co-write with people. I find it's really beautiful to be able to sit in a room with a bunch of people and have everyone's ideas come out, you know, based on like an emotion I might feel or based on, you know, something that triggers some sort of connection.

Young Hollywood

Any special collaborations we should look for on the album?

Fefe Dobson

Yeah, I got to work with a a very talented woman, her name is Orianthi. And she plays guitar on a song called Can't Breathe, who, um, I got to work with the fabulous Bob Ezrin. If you don't know who that is, check it out because then you'll find rock and roll history if you check out Bob Ezrin from Pink Floyd to Julian Lennon, everyone. So, if you don't know tons about, you know, old school rock and roll, you should check out Bob Ezrin.

Young Hollywood

So, let's talk about Fefe before and Fefe now. What would people notice from your evolution as a musician?

Fefe Dobson

Uh, evolution. I would have to say, I've grown up, you know, and I'm in my early 20s now, and I love it. I'm loving life. And I think as you get older, you start finding things about yourself that you just adore. You know, when you're younger, you're really hard on yourself. There was a point when I was really young where I would be like, you know, am I pretty enough? Am I skinny enough? Am I, you know, can I compare to all the other girls out there? And now I'm at a place in my life where I'm just like, you know what? I'm happy with me. And everyone should find something beautiful about themselves and just go out there with their chin up, you know, 'cause I I relate to that. I relate to trying to figure out who you are and and, uh, what makes you what makes you unique?

Fefe Dobson

Hey guys, I'm Fefe Dobson. Thank you, Young Hollywood, for coming on set of my new video Ghost. Thanks.
