Welcome to Young Hollywood. com. Hey guys, Crystal Denha for Young Hollywood. We're at the home of mega producer Sigal. Here are just a couple of his awards. He's in the studio right now with Dr. Hollywood. Let's go in that studio and check out what they're doing. Hey guys. Hey. What's going on in here? So We Run LA has become a sort of anthem in Los Angeles. How does it feel going around to all the night clubs and hearing your songs playing?
Ah, it feels incredible. I mean, we made that record for our city of Los Angeles. We grew up here, born and raised. We feel we're very fortunate for the whole city to adopt our record.
What about you?
Yeah. We've been really blessed. I love hearing on the radio personally. It's just there's nothing like driving down the 101 and it just comes on.
So you guys have some fly gear on. What's been your influence in your style? The matching hoodies, the colors, the sunglasses.
Loui came up with the concept with the white hoodies. This is all because this man right here. But it works perfectly. The sunglasses is actually prescription glasses. I'm blind without them.
Who's been some of your inspiration behind your work?
A lot of our inspiration come from classic rock from the 70s, you know, classic dance music, all that kind of stuff. A lot of 80s new wave also and even a lot of like early 90s hip hop. So it's like a whole mix of that, you know, it's like a music cocktail.
All right guys, it's been nice being the pickle to this sandwich, but I'm going to move over to the mastermind of everything, Mr. Sigal. Sigal, you've worked with everyone from Dr. Dre to M&M, exhibit. You name it, you've worked with them. Who has been the most entertaining person you've worked with so far?
I'd have to say entertaining, a personality, outgoing, I'd have to say exhibit.
How often is your studio being used? You have people in and out all the time, don't you? Just constantly.
Uh pretty much every day, all day. And it's spontaneous, you'll never know. It's a home, it's a studio, it's also a lifestyle.
And how long does it take typically to put together a single song?
It depends. The ideas could hit you quick and and you could be done in in five minutes and have a great idea, foundation to start something, or it could take weeks.
We've heard everything that goes into making a song. Now, Sigal, can you show us how the magic happens?
Yes, I will show you how the magic happens. Basically, let me turn this down a little bit. This is my mixer, my O2R mixer. So basically through the Pro Tools, I have my individual tracks. So we have the the Pro Tools and we have the mixing board and then through the mixing board of the ups and downs and the lefts and rights together, that's the magic.
Our mixing process, we'll probably burn out a hundred different CDs, play them in the car, play them in the home stereo system, play them all these different places to hear the acoustics of the record and then, you know, we come back here and we change it. We how we first attacked this record, he was playing acoustic guitar. We loved the riff so much and then we called up our homie John Black, JB, who's actually Miles Davis' old guitarist. Right? So we got him to come in on acoustic guitar and lay this and you know, gave birth to this new record. Turn up the acoustic guitar right here, so everyone can hear.
Oh yeah, it's already boss in the room here. Already bossing. See how it is?
Yo, we're Dr. Hollywood. And We Run LA with Young Hollywood. Peace.
