It's my birthday.

It's your birthday. You're about to meet Cody Simpson.

Oh my gosh. I'm like dying.

Which one of you loves Cody the most? Fan 1: Oh no, it was totally me. Fan 2: Okay. Fan 3: Definitely me. Fan 4: Me.

I heard something about there was a surprise party but you kind of found out about it, so maybe it's not so much of a surprise.

Yeah, I guess they were trying to organize something and then uh too many questions and then I don't know. But yeah, I think we're just uh we're just gonna go and celebrate with a bunch of people tonight and and have some fun. You only turn 17 once, you know, so.

Did you bring him anything?

Uh, a letter. Wrote him a letter.

What does it say?

Um that he's amazing and he's an inspiration to a lot of people.

You brought him up. Why a pineapple?

Because he said he likes pineapples or like must have in his dressing room. So I was like, I'm going to get him a pineapple.

Kicking off this year with an acoustic tour. Sort of like take me sort of like why you decided to do an acoustic tour and release some acoustic songs in the first place?

Um, I decided to do an acoustic tour because you know, something that I had been thinking about all the last year, um, having been out there with dancers and lights and I played a played a lot of guitar obviously, but um, I just wanted to like strip it right back down and give the fans like an entirely new experience. And this is so fun to me because you can like literally see the expressions of every single person in the audience. Sometimes I'll be looking out in the crowd and um, I'll sing to someone for a little too long, you know?

Do they get shy?

No, they're just like He likes me.

I know you had an amazing year last year. You you know, you released a book, had a great tour. What could happen this year that would make it the best year of your life?

Really to be able to spend a good amount of time on an album that I'm really proud of and that I think will do really well and hopefully it will do very well. And then, I'd love to go around the world this year and be able to just play shows in places that I haven't been.

Are there any things that you have to bring with you, like personal items that you always have to bring on tour with you?

Um, I have a little like jar of um sand from home.

Oh, really?

Like a little one. With just like sand from my like local beach I grew up in. Just cool to have. It's like that and like a little like shell from it.

What is one sound that you could listen to all day and never get tired of it?

One sound? The ocean. Crashing the ocean. I love like my house cuz I can like hear it, you know, if I open up the windows. It's good.
