Hey everyone, it's Michelle Mari here at the gorgeous Beverly Wilshire for the BMI Pop Awards.

Her fearless tour is selling out around the world.

She sold out Madison Square Garden in one minute.

I don't know how that's possible, but you did it.

Never thought that I'd actually get to go on a tour and say that I sold out Madison Square Garden and the Staple Center in two minutes.

And I know that you are now going to be having like a show on dateline, just all about you and about your tour with Fearless, the new album.

Dateline's been following me for the last month.

And it's been in three continents, like crazy and it's just really cool that they're going to be doing an hour special about the planning of this tour.

Last time I talked to you, you said that.

I was at a signing in a Walmart.

This woman walked up and was like, "Here, sign my stomach.

I'm going to get it tattooed."

I signed their stomach and then they came back with a tattooed on.

I had that happen again like the other night.

It was a shoulder, though.

If you don't know me by now.

You will never, ever, ever know me.

No, you won't.

This is like my, uh, my award.

Oh, I see.

Yeah, my songwriting award.

It's hidden in there.

Yeah, I didn't want to have it dangling on the outside like an Olympic athlete.

Right.

Not your style?

Not my style.

No.

So, you are going to be, uh, winning award tonight?

For a songwriter?

For a song called In Love with the Girl that I wrote.

Uh, there was a hit for me this past year at Top 40.

And who are you loving right now as far as an artist?

Colby Caillet was just here before.

I really like her and I I played some shows with her.

She's a great girl.

And I like a lot of the singer songwriters that have been out for a few years, you know, John Mayer and Jason Mraz.

I still like these guys, you know, they're great.

You make me smile, please stay for a while now.

Just stay inside wherever you go.

Now tonight you are an award winner, it looks like.

Very exciting, the BMI awards.

Yes, I am very honored to be here tonight.

I'm excited and nervous and everything.

And I have to say you look great tonight.

The style is kicking.

You know, they're really high, they're kind of hard to walk in, but I love the dress.

Oh, and the ring is pretty too.

The ring is amazing.

My heart will lead the way, for you.

Your single, "American Boy" with Kanye West, you know, it just really put you on the map out here globally in the US all over the place.

What is like one memory from this experience that you could say is like the most memorable?

The craziest memory, we went to Capri to perform, close to New Year's.

And I think I sung that song close to 50 times in two day period.

I was like, Do you never get sick of it or what?

Kind of sometimes, but you start the song and then you see everyone singing along having such a good time.

You see how it touches people I kind of get my joy back, you know?

I read that you and Kanye actually met outside of a chicken and waffle house.

It's a crazy story.

Tell me how you came upon him.

Oh, he was saying that he and I went up to him and said I wanted to work with John Legend.

This is all honest then.

He was like, "Cool.

Uh, cool."

So, we went to the studio, hung out for a while, and I exchanged details with John and it all came back to this.
