So, Chris, it's been amazing. Your career just went up the roof from American Idol. Tell us what the experience has been like for you.

Oh, it's been great. You know, got a band now that are out on the road with us and we're just been touring nonstop and having a good time.

At the VMA's, who do you expect to have the biggest scandal?

The biggest scandal? The VMA's are known for that. We got the kids. So, probably her.

That's good to know. Tell us about your week here in Vegas.

Unless unless Joey gets a little frisky later with me, I don't know. We'll see.

You never know. What is your uh Vegas trip been like this weekend?

We just got here. We just got here. So, we're and we're flying straight out in the morning, so it's going to be very short-lived. But uh we'll make the best of it.

Hanging out with Peter from Peter, Bjorn and John. We're so excited for your new nomination for best new artist. Are you excited tonight?

Yeah, it'll be fun. Just to sit there, have some good food, hopefully, and see the performances. Yeah, so.

Who are you excited to see perform tonight?

I don't even know who's playing. Really? Not really. I heard Britney Spears is playing, but apart from that, I don't know. So, but probably going to be a lot of good stuff.

So, your song is definitely one of the best songs I could say of the year. It's one of my favorites. Tell us how the success came to you. It just seems like that song blew up. Tell us why you think that song got so popular.

Because it's a lot different from a lot of things going on the radio. It's like a pop song, but it's more of an R&B production, maybe very spare. Not a lot of elements going around and uh I guess different. But we never expected it. The main thing is you can live out of music. I've never been able to do that. Always had extra jobs and stuff. So, so that's the best thing, really.

So, today's the day of the award show. You're nominated for best new artist. Yeah. What's going through your mind right now? It's a few hours away from the show. What are you thinking?

If I'm going to iron my shirt. That's what I'm thinking.
