Grammy Talk with Nominee Ne-Yo Part 2

They don't worry about me, I'm fine. I've thrown my hat into the ring. I'm doing my own party. We're doing a brunch. It's me, my company Compound Entertainment, and uh Microsoft Zune. We're throwing this brunch basically uh celebrating all the Def Jam nominees. We did something really inventive with the with the invitation. Nice invitation. Is the Microsoft Zune. I sit in my studio. I recorded a a personal invite. Say, for example, this one was for oh, I don't know, Mariah Carey. This will come to her office or her hotel room or whatever. She'd open it up, she'd turn the Zune on and she'd see me, and I go, hey, Mariah Carey, how are you doing? This is Ne-Yo. And this is my personal invite to you to come to my brunch. And then another thing we did to personalize it even further is that we engraved the backs. If one were to go to Mariah Carey like we put, I think we put butterflies on the back of hers. Rihanna got one. Usher, uh Jimmy Iovine, L. A. Reid, Fergie.

It just seems like you've worked with so many people across the the gamut of of music. We hear you might be working with Michael Jackson. Is there some truth to that?

I'm sending songs to Mike right now trying to uh you know, trying to put together an album for him. He's being very selective, very picky. As he should be, because it's going to be a really important album for him.

What are you going to do for to prepare for Sunday? Is there anything, any rituals you're going to do before you go out there?

I'm going to do a lot of praying. I'm going to pray a lot. I'm going to beg God to let me win at least one. I'm taking my mom with me. My mom is going to be my date.
