Welcome to younghollywood. com. The 80s had MTV. This millennium we had MySpace. And now musicmogul. com, which is the next revolution for the music industry. You've got some really cool things coming up. You're doing some albums producing for Beyoncé, Britney.
Well, I'm also a judge on a PB Star Maker that comes on MTV and Confessions of a Shopaholic is a movie that I'm working on. Jerry is the producer.
Tell our audience how they can get a record deal with you online.
Go to musicmogul. com and become a member. Basically, you create an avatar, you get your apartment. It's like a video game, you know, it's a virtual world. So you got like the whole video game experience mixing with the music industry, you know what I mean? You post your video up, you get discovered by real executives. We crown a music mogul every three months. They get flown out to LA to do a demo with me.
So at the end of the day, what do you hope that musicmogul. com accomplishes?
It allows new talent to be discovered. And it allowed us to create a whole new music industry through a virtual world experience. When I was 13, 16 years old, I used to catch the bus two and a half hours every day from New Jersey to get to New York to try to get my stuff heard. And I just wanted to create a platform where people don't have to leave their house.
How do you think you became so blessed in finding music?
My father made me play piano. He was like, when I was five years old, you had no choice, you want to live in the house, under this roof, you got to play piano. I took lessons for eight years. When I was around 12, 13, I really knew that I had a gift for music. I could tell my hate great ear.
Who do you have in your playlist right now?
Right now I got Coldplay, I got Beyoncé, I got Kanye, I got Lil Wayne.
What do you think about the whole online community for music?
Musicmogul is going to be the new thing. It's going to be the biggest thing, so I'm excited. If you're an inspiring musician, dude, drop a video on this, you can get signed, who knows? So it's going to be awesome.
What do you see the benefit of having it being an online community to help launch musicians' careers?
We live in the communication age now and people live, you know, in the digital world. And so it it's a natural evolution. Obviously this is a well thought out thing that Rodney, who is a, you know, a music mogul, really has put some time and effort into and I think that he's trying to be forward thinking and that's exactly what we're talking about with this kind of new website. We're talking about launching a movement for a new generation and I think it's a great idea. It's your boy Ronnie Darkchild Jerkins, my musicmogul. com and I'm chilling in Young Hollywood.
