Welcome to younghollywood. com.
Hey Young Hollywood, I'm Jill Wilderman.
Will you see the crowd behind me?
They're all here to celebrate the infamous DJ Vice's birthday and we're going to take you inside.
We're here with DJ Homicide.
Vice is uh, he's kind of like a old school DJ and he started off on Power 106 like I did.
One of the most skilled DJs out there.
He's my favorite DJ to listen to it.
I guess I started in LA on the radio, then I took that and I started DJing for the rock band Sugar Ray.
We made a bunch of hit songs, blah blah and next and you know, I just kept going and going.
Sujay picked me up with management.
Here I am.
Hanging out here with DJ Robbie Drum.
Lil Jon told me this.
He said, I love Vice.
He's like, every night's like New Year's Eve.
Like, can I get a good load?
Good load.
Vice has this energy.
Like he's the only guy that can go to a hip-hop club and play Metallica and have everybody just bounce.
We are hanging out here with DJ D Nice.
In this business, um, you see so many arrogant DJs, to see someone who's truly a nice guy and he gets up and he plays good music.
He's just dope, man.
Do you have a MySpace page?
Absolutely.
Dr. Dre, like these guys are like, sending friend requests and then next thing you know, we're like talking on the phone.
like and and it's it's amazing.
I actually met Vice on MySpace.
I found the birthday boy.
DJ Vice, happy birthday!
Thank you so much.
How are you doing?
I'm good.
What's your best birthday memory?
When I cut my hair on fire.
That was like reaching over to blow the candles as a kid, as a kid, and I'm like, and I like reached over, I was smiling, and they're like, ah!
Well, tonight is my birthday.
It's a kickoff to my birthday tour.
We're at Vanguard in Hollywood.
It starts off tonight in LA.
I head over to San Diego tomorrow night, and then from San Diego, we go to Las Vegas.
And at that point, I just temp over at LAX.
It's my last night right there DJing for my birthday, and we just, oh, we go it goes big.
I live out of my suitcase now.
It's crazy.
Like I'm in Vegas, uh, twice a week, playing at LAX, and Pure Nightclub, like the hottest club in Vegas.
Uh, I'm in New York, playing at Marquee.
I'm out here DJing at Area in Los Angeles, and then everywhere else, like Miami, Chicago, Boston.
It doesn't stop.
Like I just I live on an airplane.
That's my life is.
And you're sort of working tonight, too?
It's my birthday, and I I couldn't just sit there and like, enjoy the night.
It's it's every DJ.
Every DJ has it in them.
They just want to jump up and get on the turn tables.
You get like an itch in your fingers.
No, it's about MySpace.
How many friends do you have now?
I think I'm hitting 30,000.
I got gigs off of MySpace.
I work MySpace gives me work.
I'm good.
Yeah!
Yeah!
I gotta put y'all hands up in here!
Vice, happy birthday.
Yo, Vice, happy birthday, dude.
Happy birthday.
We gotta rock it.
Young Hollywood, once again, you got the exclusive.
