You're talking to Young Hollywood. Tatsiana here at the Star Magazine All Hollywood event. We're gonna catch up with Gavin DeGraw.

So, you're here at the Star Magazine All Hollywood party.

Yes, I am.

Do you perform?

Yes.

What will you be performing?

Um, I'm gonna play some of my own songs, uh, and I'll mix in with a couple of other people's songs.

So, you have an album coming out very soon.

I worked with uh about four different producers. So, Eric Ross, who made some Tori Tori Amos records. Ron N' Yellow is working right now on the um the Springsteen record. Um, Butch Walker, who made a bunch of really cool records. Um, like Paints a Beautiful Line Up, and I've been really lucky.

And there have been any collaborations that you've been wanting to do that haven't happened for you yet?

You know what I can do? I can write down a list and then I'll give you a brochure.

Oh. Like that?

Yes. A brochure is the most uh, most beautiful piece of uh of guideline. Um, what you do is I'll write down the brochure of like of the album and the artists I want to work with. How I envision it. And perhaps you do all the legwork. You know, maybe you can pressure these people next time they do a Young Hollywood uh I'm on that program. I can see that.

So, we're at a charity event um held by Star Magazine. Are there any charities that you're a huge fan of?

I do something called Nothing But Nets, which is a malaria organization. Uh, I was looking for something to uh, I was looking for something outside of music that meant something. You know what I mean? And uh, there's that one and um, something called um, Wounded Warrior. I go perform for soldiers, wounded soldiers. There's a lot of people who do a lot of really good stuff, but they never talk about it. You know what I mean? You just give me an opportunity to to brag about it.

So, a lot of people cover you. Who, if there was someone that you could dream up, dead or alive, could be dead, that would cover you, who would it be?

Well, he would never do it, but Bob Dylan. Sort of like the most respected pen in, you know, the last few decades.

Music's a really hard industry to break into, as you know. What do you say to the people that are very discouraged?

Go to law school.

So, give up and go to law school?

Yeah. No, I mean, the law will always come in handy. But uh to make it a career, it can't just be your hobby.
