Welcome to younghollywood. com. What's up, Young Hollywood? It's Michelle Marie taking you behind the scenes of The Game and Neo's new music video for 'Camera Phone', also directed by Entourage's Kevin Connolly. I'm here with The Game.
We're on the set of your video with Neo. Kevin Connelly's directing it, man, and I trust him and you know, um, we just became, you know, good friends today, man, but he's doing an excellent job. I'm just happy to be here. You know, Neo came out, showed his support for the song and, you know, my movement. So, uh, we're just trying to get it done.
Well, your album LAX has been amazing. We're on the set with Lil Wayne earlier and you with, uh, 'My Life', and I talked to Shug Knight onset. I'm here with Shug Knight. He just showed up to the set of Game and Lil Wayne from 'My Life'. He keeping it real, he keeping it real, you know. What do you think about, you know, how that song just blew up?
I wrote it and recorded it, so, you know, I pretty much knew it was gonna do, but um, you know, just everything that happens to me in my life and my career has been um, very much so appreciated by myself, uh, to keep getting blessed like this. Album after album for people to keep supporting and my fans to always keep me locked in, man. It's just it means a lot to me, you know, and uh, in my struggle and my family and I'm still just trying to get a hold of even coexisting in hip-hop as one of hip-hop's elite MCs. Uh, I just, you know, wanted to rap. I never thought that I would be, you know, The Game or be this big or just, you know, be doing songs with Neo and have Nas on my last two CDs and, I mean, so I'm still just grabbing a hold of everything that's going on.
And with all the success, you said that this was going to be your last album LAX. Is that true or do you think you're going to keep on going?
I'm gonna finish this LAX album out, uh, with the tour and, and uh, you know, shoot these videos and then after that, uh, you know, we'll see, but right now I'm not really interested in recording any new music.
What do we got going on today? Tell me the concept of the video.
We're kind of doing a modern day Copacabana type feel, like I don't if you ever seen movies like Goodfellas, you know, movies like that. It's kind of just, uh, you know, us moving through the club. Everybody knows us, you know, we're the guys to know, you know, kind of uh, mafioso esque type feel is what we're putting on it.
Right. So, not much acting involved, I guess, because that's kind of like how you roll through the club. People know you.
A little bit, a little bit, you know, it's not much of a stretch, you know.
I like the hat. What do you love about this style, the whole, you know, rap pack style?
I don't know, it's just a classicness to it. You know, you can throw a fedora on with jeans and a t-shirt and it just adds a classicness to your look, yeah.
So, what is your daily look on a day-to-day basis? What do you like to throw on? This is you?
This is me, with the hat. Well, normally, normally I have on a button-up or, you know, something like that, but
So, what is it like working with The Game today? How's it been so far?
This is our first time doing anything together. Um, he's cool people, man. You know what I'm saying? He he's down-to-earth people, like that's what I like to meet people that's in this business that have maintained their just regularity, you know what I mean? Like because there's so many people in this business that they get to a certain level and all of a sudden they feel like they're not people no more, you know what I mean? But he's cool people.
Kevin Connolly's directing. It's great. Are you a big fan of his on Entourage?
Entourage, absolutely. Absolutely.
So, now he's in the directing world. How is it working with him so far?
Well, we're about to shoot my first scene, uh, right now as a matter of fact. I gotta go get dressed and I there he is. Walking right through. We're about to go set we're about to go set it up right now. What's going on everybody? This is Neo, aka the gentleman and you're locked on to Young Hollywood. Keep it locked. Peace and love.
You know what it is, man. Compton for life. You know what it is, I sport ya'll, ya'll sport me. We support the movement, the movement is hip-hop.
