Ludacris on Dr. Dre

Yes, yes, you've had such a tremendous career. Your songs are number one all the time. Which ones are your favorites?

My favorites, you know, uh southern hospitality, the Throwback Bowles records, and move, get out the way. I think we apply that every day, especially in LA when, you know, there's a lot of traffic going on so. I think that would be my perfect.

Everyone, yeah, everyone can adapt to that. That would be the perfect one. Now of all the years you've collaborated with so many different people, which ones were your most memorable collaborations?

Um, you know, trying to keep it clean for television. I would have to say Snoop and for obvious reasons because I think I was on another planet when I was recording with him. As simple as that.

Now, since you've worked with so many people, who would you love to in the future?

Yeah, I you know, I always wanted to work with Dr. Dre. I got a chance to work with him and then M&M, you know, I've talked to M&M, so hopefully we can make that happen.

Now I heard that you're ghost writing for Dr. Dre's new album Detox. Is that true?

I was definitely doing a little ghost writing, but um, you know, we'll see what happens. He has a lot of different tracks that he has to choose from for the Detox album. So it is what it is.

Now, how hard is it to actually come back with, you know, a brand new album with the times now because Dr. Dre was like huge 15 years ago and he's still always been an icon. What's the most important when you're creating a song for the times right now?

I think he has the chemistry and and he has exactly what, you know, everyone wants. You know what I'm saying? Just trying to stay innovative, reinvent yourself and always have the good music. Like good music will last throughout the ages, no matter how things change. And he he always produces some good music.

Now, when you're creating your songs, what is your process like?

There's no method to the madness whatsoever. It's whatever. It's whatever. Mostly within my car if you had to say that, but you know, when I write in my car, I drive around. That's mostly where the the creative process is done.

Now, last time I saw you was at the Super Bowl. I'm here with Ludda. And we are about to see you perform. How's how you're feeling right now?

I'm feeling extremely crunk. I'm feeling motivated. I'm feeling good. I'm feeling ludicrous. All of that good stuff.

What's the difference between your career as far as like when you first started and now like what is your most memorable thing?

Just being at a a level where I feel like I'm always trying to reinvent myself the same way I was talking about Dr. Dre. Because, you know, it becomes more and more of a challenge after you put out so many albums because you've gotten so much off your chest. So you have to experience life at a whole new level and just talk about what you're going through.

And you've got this great acting career under your belt as well. What do you love about acting?

You get to display certain personalities sometimes that you may not be able to do and you have an excuse to do it on film, so I love doing those, you know, those bad roles and sometimes you can let a lot of frustration and anger out. It's almost a form of being able to talk to a psychiatrist times 20.

Times 20.

Yeah, because you're able to release a lot of a lot of stress through through acting and I think that's why it's so addictive because you have an excuse to do it and you actually get paid to do it.

We're here at the Tag Body Spray launch and you have your own Tag Body Spray. I want to know all about it.

Of course, I have my own, you know, the slogan is 'get yours' and it's a little bit of a competition going on with Carmelo Anthony and my man Rob from the Rob and Big Show MTV. And with that being said, we all have our different fragrances and it's part of the Signature Series with Tag. Right. And hands down, you know, what's understood doesn't necessarily have to be explained. I do have the best fragrance and people need to go out and buy mine.

If you were to compare your scent to something, what would you compare it to?

I would compare it to the essence of sex. That's what I would compare it to because everybody wants to, you know, know about what being sexy is all about. What being sexy is all about. It's just about sex. It's just about sex. Do you want to know what? Smell like sex. It's the essence of sex. You know what I'm saying? Don't get it twisted. Don't get it twisted.

Yeah, absolutely. If you were to have the ultimate career goal, what would it be?

Man, you know, I'm always trying, I just want to find the artist that will sell more records than I've ever sold. That is definitely one of my goals in life.

And what's your favorite word?

My favorite word, I got a lot of favorite words, but if I had to keep it clean for television, I would say 'entreprinegro' is my favorite word because that's what I am.
