Young Hollywood, what is going on today in the studio. We have the most athletically fit artist in the rap game. Yes, sir. Ace Hood, what up?

Ace Hood

Thank you, bro.

Young Hollywood

I was talking on Instagram story and I just see you posting. Is this something new? You've always been fit I know but like, you're next level right now.

Ace Hood

Thank you bro, thank you.

Young Hollywood

Talk to me about for that perspective.

Ace Hood

Uh Long story short for the past about three years, I've been really exercising like the whole health and wellness thing. Dieting, eating right, taking care of yourself. Just really nurishing in every aspect of my life, you know?

Young Hollywood

I feel you. Speaking of just working out, you have one of my all-time favorite gym playlist, honestly cuz you have so many hits. But Hustle Hard?

Ace Hood

Yes, sir. Yes, sir.

Young Hollywood

Let's talk about when you made that, did you know it was going to be such a big anthem like that?

Ace Hood

Yes, I did know. Like, when I heard the the instrumental, like I was like, yo, if I come up with a creative flow and something dope, like I know this record could be out of there. And I had the first part of it but I was trying to find that that the anthem part of it. The Hustle Hard part, so I went back home, chilled on it, prayed about it, revisited it the next day then I had the the Hustle Hustle Hard joint.

Young Hollywood

Classic. Let's talk about new music.

Ace Hood

Yes, sir.

Young Hollywood

New mixtape out.

Ace Hood

Uh-huh, Trust the Process 2 Undefeated.

Young Hollywood

Talk to me about that title because I love it. Um, what's the mentality behind that?

Ace Hood

My mindset is just undefeated, you know? This is like a project I feel like for the un-broken. Stuff that can energize you, that can give you energy. It's more like my mindset, my ideas and like my daily practices that I practice on a day to day. Largely these are smaller pieces to the larger goal. Even the next project and everything I drop in between, it's just me trusting the process and my fans and the people who supporting me, trusting the process until we get to the album which uh, I'm very excited about which is coming this year.

Young Hollywood

So, this is a project that you put out your own, you're independent now. Where does it rank in terms of importance to you?

Ace Hood

For me, it's just reinforcing the story. Just reminding people of like who I am and like my journey and like my goals and where I'm headed, you know? Ultimately, the large goal is to be able to merge my fitness and rap together. That was the whole idea behind the whole Trust the Process 2. So people can continue working on themselves and just continue building.

Young Hollywood

Cuz you've been to the top.

Ace Hood

Uh-huh.

Young Hollywood

And then you stepped away.

Ace Hood

Right, right.

Young Hollywood

What was the mindset behind that? What's the new vision? What's why are you trying to create your own lane?

Ace Hood

It's all about purpose for me, you know? I just wanted to step away from the whole commercial scene cuz I think that constantly the thing that was going around is just the fact that people love my music but hadn't tuned in to who Ace Hood was, you know what I mean? And who was he behind the music. So for me that bothered me. Because I'm so awesome behind the camera and my life is just so great. You know, and so for me it was just to really display that side. Put that on the forefront and step back this whole commercial idea and people's ideas of success and attaching. It's just like, I want to create something that's meaningful for me at the end of the day. So I I took a step forward into my own direction simply because of legacy. And legacy is why I do everything. It's why I train hard. It's why I nourish my children. It's why I nourish my relationship. It's why I nourish my team. It's for that reason, for legacy.

Young Hollywood

You have an energy and mindset of greatness. Yes. How do you deal with like when you're feeling down? How do you get through that?

Ace Hood

I breathe. I breathe mainly. Uh, affirmations work really well for me.

Young Hollywood

Is there something that you say to yourself?

Ace Hood

Just to be able to handle things with light and love. Always do like a lot of protective prayers cuz I wasn't protected earlier on in my life. So I I do oftenly working on just protecting myself and just having good people around that's going to nourish that, you know?

Young Hollywood

You manifest. Are you're a big believer in manifesting?

Ace Hood

Yes, I am.

Young Hollywood

What's that process like for you?

Ace Hood

I think we can heal ourselves. I think we could, I think humans are incredible. I think that we already have it. I think that we just have to do the self work. For me coming from where I came from in my community, the whole black community and we weren't taught about uh, having healers or having or like having counselors. Like this version I was only able to get here cuz I was able to I was, you know, I I put in the work, you know, the self work. Just as well as you go to the gym and stuff. Like I go to seminars, I do certain things, I listen to talks. I like keep myself as much surrounded by that energy. You understand? So with me, I believe in manifesting. I I believe in like when you put something out like the universe responds to it. Like, depending on your direction. If you believe that if I wanted to be an actor or something like that. Like, every day I'm creating visual content and I'm walking towards that purpose. And like that's how you manifest.

Young Hollywood

Ace Hood, you are the man. God's young Hollywood. Peace out. Stay undefeated.
