What's up guys? Leslie Robbins here for Young Hollywood on a very strange assignment. I'm outside the Hayworth Theater in Los Angeles. Now, just picture this, Silence of the Lambs, the movie as a musical. This is the story of Clary. She wants to join the FBI. Her troubled past warms her psyche. Her daddy died when she was nine. Guys, you created the show. I don't even know what to say. It is so out there. How did you come up with this?

Well, we were always obsessed with the character of Buffalo Bill from the Silence of the Lambs movie. Actually, we wanted to hear what it would sound like for that character to sing show tunes.

From start to finish, how long did it take you to create this piece?

Well, depends, either two months or 10 years. The original batch of songs we wrote, there were nine songs, we wrote them and performed them ourselves, and we put them on the internet and it kind of snowballed from there. This was before YouTube and Facebook, and I don't know how it happened, but it went viral and it started spreading and it lasted for a few years to the point where eventually people found it and wanted to stage it. And in 2005, it went up at the New York Fringe Festival that summer.

You've already taken Silence of the Lambs and made a vulgar and quite popular musical out of it. What other movies do you want to tackle now?

We've done some others. We've done Conan the Barbarian and Predator. We've we've done a bunch of Arnold Schwarzenegger songs. Yeah, we do uh, Stallone. We tend to do 80s action movies these days. Things that we grew up with and love. We go back to our roots. Yeah.

Rocky Balboa number six, probably the best one. You got to give me a song and dance of what he would do.

We did Rocky 4. It's up online, so.

Give me a little bit of it.

It's cold outside. My face is frozen. So this is where I've chosen to stay. Adrian, my kitten, my robot, they're all a million miles away.

Is that when he's in Russia like about to work out? Okay. What is your favorite moment in this show?

The most important moment in the show is Lecter's first big number if I could smell her C. So you don't have to bleep that. And it kind of makes or breaks the show at that moment because you really have to buy into that that he's this dignified character, but this is really a love song but with horrendously profane lyrics. But it's a metaphor for this guy who's trapped in this cell like desperate to make a connection with a woman in any way that he can.

Did put the lotion in the basket make it into your play?

No, we didn't. Of course we did. It's

So I asked your creators about put the lotion in the basket, one of the iconic lines from the movie. Yes. A, I want to hear you do it. And B, if you have another favorite line, I need to hear you sing it, say it, sing it, dance it, I don't know.

Well, am I allowed to say the full line? Or should I edit?

Well, just since you've been with this show since the beginning, I think we had Silence of the Lambs the movie. We have Silence the Musical. The next step, which you definitely will be a part of because you've been in it since the beginning, Silence And no one will hire me for anything else. You're ready? Yes. Silence the Musical, the movie. Yes. You're in. Done. Done. Done. That's it. That's your next gig. Young Hollywood. It's my next gig. So, they don't look like it, but I'm standing with Clarice and Hannibal. Yes. When you tell people the roles that you're playing on a stage, what's the reaction you get?

Uh, well, people first of all are like, um, oh my gosh, I can't believe they've made that into a musical. That sounds horrifying and hilarious. Um, and then when I tell them I'm Clarice, people just they they they've just freaked out. They can't wait to come. And then I tell them who's playing Hannibal and then they really freak out. Like all my musical theater friends are totally freaking out. They are. That's not true. No, it is true. But I just happen to play murderers a lot apparently. I don't know why. I mean, after uh, I played Phantom for a very long time and now this is another crazy, wacky murderer person. Yes.

What does that say about you?

I don't know. Second guest: Hello. Hello, good morning Clarice. This musical is vulgar, borderline, not many people under the age of maybe 50 can come. It's that vulgar. It's great. I even I told my parents they can't come to see it cuz they wouldn't like it. But um, it's it's for it's a young, hip kind of edgy musical. That's what it is. Yeah.

We don't really actually say anything that is not said in the movie. Um, we don't use any words that are not used in the movie, but we use them in a lot of different ways. And we use them a lot. A lot, over and over. Yeah. I think uh, one of my favorites is um, he said I can smell your oh. Yes. That's my big song. If I could smell her. Hoo ha. See, he can't even say it. He's more dignified than you. Second guest: Oh, way more dignified. Way more dignified. I've made a career out of doing really, you know, um, out there and uh, theater and doing stuff that my parents are completely disgusted and horrified by. Yeah. Pretty much.

My thoughts are, they have the movie Silence of the Lambs. Now we have Silence the Musical. I'm thinking Silence the Musical, the movie. Oh my gosh. Can you imagine? It'd be like Rocky Horror Picture Show. Somebody should write that down right now. We should get We should Second guest: From your mouth to everybody's hearing. Right? Who do we talk to? Who do we talk to? Uh, that guy there. That guy, the director right there. Just talk to him about it. All right. Silence of the Lambs, we already have the movie. Now we have Silence the Musical. Yes. Now we need Silence the Musical, the movie. I'm there. Someone call me, please. I'll do it. I would do, I would do unlo like we would we could recreate every scene. We could like get that set back, go to the asylum. Amazing. Shoot it shot for shot. I'm ready. Let's go. But now what would the rating be? That would be the biggest question. NC17. No, I don't think 18-year-olds can see this. R. It'd be R. Probably be R.

Your favorite line. There are many to choose from. Second guest: Uh, hi, I'm Barney. Where's your Tony? It's it's it's still getting um, engraved. I haven't seen it yet. I held it I held it for 24 hours and that was then I had to give it back cuz it's I have to uh, they're engraving it, so.

Do you have to pay for that? Second guest: I I don't think so. I mean, my name is really long, so that would probably cost me a fortune. So I'm not really happy they're taking care of it.

I don't know if this one will win a Tony, but it might win like the craziest, most out there musical you've ever seen. Second guest: Well, you know what I love is is that cuz artistically people can, you know, they luckily they've liked it, but like but with regards to like audiences and things like that, like we've always found that like we'll top all of their this more than anything. And that to me is the most important thing because, you know, people are just are and people can think whatever they want, but when you know it, you have an audience on your side and and they appreciate what it is and that that to me that's the most important thing because that's my job is to entertain you know, the masses. So it's a good it's a good feeling.
