Hey Young Hollywood, we are here at Cat Con. We are about to go catch up with our friend Ian Summerholder and talk to him a little bit about his foundation and what he has planned for the future.
What's up Young Hollywood? We are here with our favorite actor and activist Ian Summerholder. Thank you for joining us. How are you doing?
Thank you very very much for for having me. It's Absolutely. Pretty amazing. It's a giant convention center full of cats and people that love cats, which it's meaning an environment and a community where it's just people who are happy and want to be here. It's like it's a little hard to be angry in a place that's full of cats and kittens.
This is true. This is true. So we are at Cat Con if you didn't already. You're at Cat Con. We didn't if you didn't already get that, we're at Cat Con. Can you explain to us a little bit about what brings you here and your foundation, which is the Ian Summerholder Foundation.
Yeah, of course. I mean, the great thing about what we at the Ian Summerholder Foundation want to do is not only save animals and get these animals adopted out, but building the community around it to not only help the animals, but help the community around it. So, from an educational perspective, building the next generation where there is no more animal abuse, there is no more overpopulation if you, you know, So the educational component and getting animals adopted out if you can, come here, adopt these animals. They will change your life forever. This is true. Truly. It's a new family member, love them, adore them, and what they give to your life is far more than you can ever imagine. And so we at ISF are really, really loving being able to be in this space. Um, but the biggest issue we have um is overpopulation. And so I think figuring out a really cost effective way, um, building a community around it to stop the sort of senseless slaughter of 10, you know, over 10 million animals a year in this country. Right, like in Thailand. Well, that is a whole other story. I'm talking about domestically. We we euthanize I think between like 10 and 13 million cats and dogs a year. Really, really, really appreciate all the support for ISF and if you can, go to our website, donate, donate, donate. Donate whatever you can. We are grateful for all of it.
So for anybody out there who wants to get involved with your foundation, they just go to your website and donate.
Yeah, go to the website, donate. We we really, really, really need it and we appreciate it and we want it because we want to build this community um and we want to make it effective. And it takes resources and it takes time and um
Well, we're so grateful for you putting your time and your resources into this.
Well, I'm really grateful for you and and the media really, really helps us a great deal. So thank you.
Amazing. Aside from this, anything else we can look forward to seeing from you in the future?
Um I am shooting Yes, I I just landed, so I'm I just came in um from
Welcome home.
Yeah. Welcome back. For a second. Um, I'm shooting my new show uh on Netflix, um, called V Wars. Oddly enough deals with vampires. But it's a completely different side of it. It's very exciting. It's from a completely different point of view. Amazing. Um, I'm not a vampire, I play a scientist, but um different It's Yes, it's on Netflix. It's um I'm I'm a few different roles in the show, um, producing, directing, starring and doing all that stuff.
That's fantastic.
It's really fun. So you guys check it out and even if you don't like it, still watch it. Absolutely. But we're working our butts off trying to tell a really great story. And the thing is is that we're not reinventing the wheel. I mean, it is a genre show, but the performances, we're doing everything we can to make them grounded and as real and wonderful and compelling as possible.
Coming from you, it will be all of those things.
We're working hard. We just want to be a performance-based show.
Amazing. Well, thank you so much, Ian.
Thank you, sister. It's been been amazing. We really appreciate it.
We appreciate you. Thank you guys very, very much. Thank you so much. Check out Ian's foundation and make sure you adopt an animal and uh get involved. Get involved.
