Hey guys, Nicki Novac here for Young Hollywood at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. We are here for the Fifth Annual Thirst Gala. So this event, you've been here many, many years. Why does it continue to be important to you?
Um, yes, this is my third year here and honestly, it's just the most shocking thing to me, the fact that people are dying from lack of water. I I think every single human deserves the basic things. Clean water, food in your stomach, shelter, and education. And there's something about water that's so pure, it's an essence. It's, um, it's it's very symbolic. And a lot of people don't have that opportunity. And we've all been thirsty and we've all been lucky enough to go to the kitchen and get some water or to the store. A lot of people don't have that. I found out about the Global Water Crisis and I didn't realize that 780 million people don't have access to safe clean drinking water, and that's what really got me going. I've just been a massive supporter of the cause since the very beginning and Taj Mowry, who I'm presenting with tonight. Um, love him. I adore him. I adore him. I love that whole family. So to be able to kind of be alongside Taj, who I actually funded a well in Swaziland with two years ago or a year ago and now we're back here and we're supporting the same cause and just so much bigger of a scale and watching this charity kind of grow and watching the project and the campaign just grow has been incredible for me.
Now, I think the reason that Earth to Echo teamed up with the Thirst project is that the movie's about, you know, kids not just being kids and kids being able to do anything. And it's so easy nowadays for kids to to help out other people as far all the way across the world. It's it's such an incredible organization and to raise awareness, um, for it is is just such an honor to be here.
I think, you know, even just kind of having a consciousness of how frequently we turn on and off the faucet. Just like counting the amount of times that you do that during a day and thinking about like not having that ability. I mean, we just do it to like rinse something off, you know, and it's like people in Africa would drink that water and cherish it.
Why do you think it's important for somebody your age to have an awareness and to give back?
Because you always, you don't want to be like stingy with what you have. You you want to save, give, and you want to spend.
I'm going to even say you're best dressed at the night. No. Really? I'm giving you a Young Hollywood award for best dressed. Because this is a charity, it's an event, it's for a good cause. Are you going to be out on the dance floor? Are you going to like set the tone and just like be the first one out there?
Oh, absolutely. I'm presenting. It's going to be great. Uh, I wanna I wanna get people hyped, get people pumped. I mean, this is for a great cause and, uh, I love being of service of any way I can.
So you can pump up a crowd. How do you do that?
You gotta feel like you're you're leading people into battle. I'm big on Alexander the Great and you just gotta feel like you're charging into that line, you're riding your horse and it's like that's what I want to do. My adrenaline actually just started to see what I'm saying. Because once you have a purpose, you just laser in on it and boom, that's what I'm going to do no matter what comes in my way.
Oh my gosh. What is your party style? Because I feel like you would be the life of the party. Am I correct in that?
I feel like I could be the life of the party. Um, I I like to always, obviously, keep it classy. I'm not just saying that because it's an interview, like I like to keep myself together always. That's really important. I'm usually the DJ. I'm usually like playing the songs. Like, come on, yeah, let's do it, let's do it.
When I think charity, I think inspiration. Who inspires you?
Um, Debbie does actually, on our set, cuz she, um, she's really big on, you know, giving back and she helps out a lot of people.
Oh my gosh, I love Sophia Bush. She really does inspire me. Um, I just feel like she does so much charity and she has such a big voice, like the way she uses her voice is so incredible to me and so inspiring. Um, and very admirable because I couldn't do it. I'm like, ooh, she's so opinionated and I love it.
Like, I gotta say, Chris Farley, man, he's my favorite guy in the world. Oh. Poor guy, you know, but still, he's my favorite. Second guest: This is gonna sound really cheesy, but really Seth does inspire me. That's always my go-to answer, but it just happens where it's to be where at uh, The Thirst Gala. But Seth, because he's so young and so already, um, he's so young and he's so successful with The Thirst Project. So kudos to him.
Someone who inspires me is probably my best friend. He inspires me to like go out there and do what I love and like to give back.
Is there somebody in particular you haven't met that you know's coming tonight? Somebody you would like to see, you've seen before?
Well, I mean, Jennifer Garner is hosting. So I'm sure everybody said that but I'm really excited to watch her. I think she's such a doll. She's so just classy and beautiful and intelligent and talented and I'm definitely a fan. So the fact that she's gonna be, you know, hosting the whole evening is very exciting to me.
Jennifer Garner, she seems so grounded and lovely and has had such a longevity in her career and also has established herself as a person without kind of selling her soul to the media. I I love like her brand and I would be really interested to just kind of shake her hand and get to know her a little bit.
For her to be at that level and kind of leading the way, a leader of this. I wanna meet the leader of this and really thank her for what she's doing.
