Inside Phoenix1's Top Secret Team House

Whoa. Hey guys, Audrey here for Young Hollywood. Phoenix1 is used to battling it out on one of the world's biggest stages as competitors in the North American League of Legends Championship Series, but what is life away from the spotlight like? Well, I'm about to find out. I'm at their team house in a top-secret location in L. A. and we're getting an inside look. Phoenix1: This is where we play. This is where the video games happen.

Hanging out with Gate who plays support and Mash who plays ADC. Tell me what it's like to have a pro-gamer haven all to yourself. Phoenix1: We have basically everything we need to succeed as like a pro-gamer. Internet's good, computers are good, everything's good. We just play games. That's our our daily lives. My seat's over there in the corner. Here's Mash, Pirin sits here. Anorris sits here and Zick sits here.

And how did you pick where you wanted to be in the room? Phoenix1: Our coach assigned us seats based off like our position and order.

We've got Phoenix1's coach Charlie Lipsie and then we've got Pirin who plays mid. You are the leader in this whole deal. For you as a coach, what's the most important thing to impart on your team?

Morality is really important and team atmosphere and that's something I looked at while putting this team together. Phoenix1: Me and my support player, we occasionally cuddle just to build the synergy.

Do you like to be little or big spoon? Phoenix1: Yeah, he's a big boy so he's big spoon.

Oh, okay. I see. Let me check out your fridge though. I'm always curious about people's fridges. We're gonna go full crib style here, you guys. Phoenix1: We got a little bit of everything in here.

Oh, wow. Okay. You saw nothing in there. Oh, no. We didn't see anything. We have to your pantry. Hold on, hold on. We have to we have to stop by the snacks.

Oh, wow. I live here, So fun. Better than people's team house. So this is my room. I share this room. This is the best laundry basket. Here's the bathroom. After a bad set of scrims, I just kind of sit here, let the water wash my head and think about the scrim sets. I'm a deep person like that.

Well, walk me through a typical day.

We wake up anywhere from 10 to 12. Depending on how last night went, our practice usually begins from 12 to 3. Then we'll have another set of practice and that's just basically every weekday.

Wow. You know, for a lot of people for a lot of gamers out there, this is a dream come true. But what do you think is the biggest misconception about being a pro-gamer?

I guess the easiest one to say is that it's not all fun and games. You should treat it exactly like a normal job. Okay. And try to be as professional as possible. It is a lot of fun, but once something you like becomes a job, it's always gonna be there's moments you feel difficult. The one has like a social life when you're in league. Like we practice five, six days out of the week and we have maybe like one day off a week if we're lucky and the season's run for like 9 to like 12 weeks in a row. There's like no time off. A lot of people get burnt out really easy. I think a lot of the like competing pros like ex-pros and stuff, people quit the game, go back to school, stuff like that or they go work. Just because it's like it's pretty grindy at times, but it's still in the end we're just playing games and it's a blessing to like have this opportunity for sure.

How many rooms are in this house, by the way? Phoenix1: Uh, well, upstairs are all bedrooms. This is Charlie's. Oh. This is Charlie's room. So coach Charlie's room. All his, you know, personal care products over there. Let's see what's in here actually. He's got some things we shouldn't have like that actually. Okay. So. We're going to go out to the pool area. Is that a hot tub? We get in here sometimes. Yeah. After a long day. We got the grill over here. We also have a pizza oven over there.

Whoa. Phoenix1: This is our pool house. Right now we're housing our substitute players in here.

Dang. All right, so this is one way to use your garage. Can we talk about the season, but specifically North America, worlds. Phoenix1: I think NA is actually like one of the best regions right now compared to like EU and like Korea. Like Korea's number one, but NA is like a lot better. It's really exciting like have your region to be a joke for a very long time and finally people gonna respect. I definitely think NA is gonna be top-two region, probably top four at the World Finals.

Well, what do you guys want people to know about Phoenix1? Phoenix1: When we came in as a new organization, people didn't really know what to think of us. I would want that in the future people think about Phoenix1 in a good and positive light. We're just an animal team, we're crazy, we like to fight.
