How to Play PUBG Like a Pro

Young Hollywood is here at the Ghost Gaming House, and I'm sitting with the fine, legit. He's going to show me how to play PUBG. I'm super excited. You're going to make me an expert at this game, right?

Yeah, I know. Definitely an expert. An expert at LAN. I'm going to show you some, some LAN tips that uh that teams would use more in a very like competitive setting, not so much like the public realm. We're going to drop into like a public game. Uh but we're going to do some more in-depth stuff for the competitive scene. Not so much like your beginner tip kind of thing.

Cool, let's do it.

So we're just going to queue up for a solo real quick. Okay. And this is just going to put us into a game with like 100 people. So right now, I've got like 40 seconds until I drop in. If I wanted to, I could just the whole time we've been in here, I could have ran you know, wherever I want to go. The only thing is I can't find a car. That's the only difference. In this little lobby right here, even though it is the map we'll play on, there aren't any cars spawned in yet. So in 25 seconds, we're going to be popped into an airplane and we're going to, you know, get flown in, dropped down. And what we're going to really focus on is is what we would do for a for a LAN event, for a tournament. And what that means is like money is on the line. So uh I'm going to show you like the things that we're going to focus on here. So right now, the first thing we would do is just kind of look at the plane because you're going to want to see exactly what the plane route is. Okay. So you know what people can reach, what they can't reach, um what they can reach in certain ways like we'll do something interesting here. We'll uh we'll uh

And you don't know what the plane's taking. We'll go up pretty early.

No, well, you know the plane's line is going to be going down this way. So I do now know that. So as we're going out the plane, we'll be watching the backside to see where all the teams are going. But what I'm going to do that's interesting here is I'm going to take a car here and I'm going to go all the way down to the south. And the reason being is because I know that nobody is really down on that south side because of this plane route. And for the first like 10, 15 minutes, if we're playing very serious, obviously, you play serious at LAN, what you're going to want to do is get a vehicle uh in a situation like this and and avoid people. So right here, we're looking around. We're trying to find a vehicle. There's a truck over here, actually. One's burnt out. The other one should be an actual pickup truck. So we're going to go over there. And what I'm going to do is free look around. So I'm holding down Alt. And I'm just trying to see what's going on. In this game, I need to gather as much information as I possibly can. So, right now, I want to know what variables are around me, what they're going to do if they can shoot me. There are a few people if they landed in a few spots and got a gun quickly, they could actually end up shooting me. Especially in like a solos matches, which is what we're in. So the circle hasn't popped yet, as you can see. People are already dying in the top right over here. And so what's going to happen is in a few few seconds, the circle will pop. I'm going to be driving down south here, over to Valdemar, right down at the bottom. This whole map is kind of structured after like um Spanish culture, like Mexico, that kind of thing. Up in the mountains. It's uh it's honestly like a really beautiful map just to like look around and play in. This is the second map that's come out. But as all these players are dying, you see the circle pop. So what we're going to do now is look at this. We have 4 minutes and, you know, 50 seconds. So we're going to drive down here, knowing we have that time. We know we're going to spend like another minute, maybe max, driving down here. So we know now we have 3 minutes to loot, and then we need to leave. So what we're going to do is figure out like what side we're going to pull up. Honestly, I'm going to pull up on this far side, hoping that nobody beat me down here. And so as like a team, what we would like what we would talk about right now is, okay, so people could have jumped, they could have hit this road, they could have hit this road. They could have hit multiple roads and possibly have beaten us to where we're going. And so what you do with that free looking around is you you see their trajectory

Yeah.

and you try and figure out exactly like, all right, is that guy going for a road over to my far left, 300 meters away, or is he going to the city? Because it can matter, because if he just gets a car and skips the city, he might then drive down one of these other roads and go to somewhere where I want to go. So it's like in this game it's a lot of keeping, you know, as many puzzle pieces as many variables as I can keep in my head, I want to do that. And so I'll just pull over right here. I'll come down in here. Hopefully we don't hit a tree. Sometimes you hit a tree. There's uh been an update where the grass is very slidey. So this is one of the games where you'll find more realism than most games. And so the the grass when you get too fast, it actually slides. So right now, we're going into our our looting phase. And we do. We have 3 minutes left.

And you're going to get weapons here? Or you're going to get

Yes, so we're getting weapons. So there's an AK. There's a eight times right here. And this is a Winchester. So this Winchester is only for this map. And it it can't even have a scope on it like this AK with the scope right here. And so right now in a solo, what I would be doing if we were playing a solo event at a tournament, which you normally just play squads, pulling up like this is I would really be listening. Somebody could very well have heard everything I just did. And they could be running to me. And they would be running to me when I had no loot. And that can honestly be the end of me very quickly. So these are that's one of the reasons right there, that scenario why you have to keep so many variables in check because you really want to know what you're driving into. And if you don't know what you're driving into, like nine times out of 10, you can, you know, come into a surprise party very easily.

Such a rush.

Yeah. No, it really is a rush. Like right now, it's it's kind of calm, it's the chill phase. Um it's a little more hectic as a player right now because this is solos. So there's so many variables and so many different spots. For squads, you have four people who generally move together. So that's four people who are now kind of like one in a way. And so it kind of frees up the map. But now in solos, you know, somebody could have been going to a city over here and they saw another person going, and then they see a car off here. So they jump in the car and they come down to my area because they want to loot safe, but it's not really safe. And so it's like solos is is interesting in that way. There's a lot of things that can happen that are very unexpected.

What are you doing now? Are you looting again?

Yeah, so right now I'm looting. I'm I'm nowhere near finished looting. Like I have a vest, I have a helmet, I have a site, but what I have is an I have a eight times with an AK, which isn't very good. Very, very hard to control. It's not going to do good for up close. Up close when I'm in the city, I'll have to zoom in like that with it. I scrolled out with it and like brought the site back in. So I'm going to loot a little more. Um on the desert map, you're always going to want to grab that colored helmet instead of the the gray helmet that you see there. They're both the same level two helmet, but uh yeah. And so now I just found I just found a site that's more appropriate. So now it's now it's getting a little better. But we're still not we don't have any meds. We don't have like a good amount of the essentials. We still have a minute to work with. And you also have to remember that this the circle is going to be moving. So right now at LAN, we would have honestly probably already been sending a player to the circle. And when you send somebody into the circle in a competitive setting, what you're going to do is send them to the opposite side of what you think is the most populated area. So watching that plane is very big. You can tell like there's a lot of people on the west coast, so we know we're going to have to go east coast. And so it's like, well, do we need to come in from the north side and take a long drive or do we need to come in from the south? And a lot of that is just simply based on who are we going to run into while we're driving because a big thing in competitive is is making sure that you don't get killed in transition. So

And what's inside the circle?

Inside the circle is safe is a safe zone. So in 10 seconds, the blue is going to start to pop.

And it's this blue electrical field, and it's going to start moving in and closing in on the zone. Once it hits the edges, it's going to recircle even smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller until everyone's killed themselves or the zone has killed everyone but one person. It all comes down to one person, one team, you know, a duos, a squads, um and then that would be the team that would win. And so there's there's a ton of different metas that you can go with. So right now, this zone's moving in right here. And teams solo mid. They kind of like to loot in blue, is what we call it. And so I could stay in these buildings, let the blue hit me and loot for more meds. But just so I can show you a little more stuff, just strategically wise, because as big as gunfights are in this game, um once you get to a pro level, everybody is, you know, everyone's pretty much as good as the other person at that point. So the big thing is is the outplay of strategics, is the outplay of really being able to predict and like outposition other teams and, you know, beat them to certain spots that that you want to get to. This is high level predictions, risk reward, weighing out the odds. We just got hit by the blue. So what's going to happen now is I might loot for just a little bit more, and then I'm going to go ahead and leave. And the reason being is because I don't have much meds. Um staying in the blue for long without meds is a complete risk. If I risk it too much, you might even just die to blue in a really weird case scenario if you can't get out with your vehicle.

So how do you find meds?

You just look in all these different you just look in all of the houses, all of the buildings. Sometimes they'll be stuff like right there, just sitting in garages. You'll just go in and find things. Teams, you know, they have their preference on how long they want this phase to be. We normally have a very short looting phase. Um you know, two or three minutes ago, we would have sent a player over here somewhere to hold something for us by themselves. So shorter looting the better. Yeah, well, in squads, absolutely, because positioning is so important. So in squads, positioning is just incredibly, incredibly important. Right now, I'll be coming in on probably not a very populated side. It's solos. There's only 30 three people left, so I can do something a little different than what we would do in squads. And that's one thing. That's like the biggest tip that you have to remember about this game is that everything is adaptable. You make a certain decision, a certain play. In hindsight, you'll learn that there's a better play to make. There's a better There's something better to do.

How was the first time you played this game? Were you good or were you terrible?

No, I was I was pretty good. Luckily, I I played a similar game that had the same type of like shooting mechanics. It had this same like the lean peak that you're seeing right now, this back and forth. It had that that same type of mechanic. And then everything else was just learning how to how to like control the recoil and like snap around and just get comfortable with the game. So.

So that was amazing. Yeah, it's interesting. You are in the zone. You totally change when you start playing this game.

Oh yeah, 100%. There's a lot that goes into PUBG if you're trying to play competitively.

You haven't even gotten to the hard part of the game, right? I mean, you haven't gotten to the fighting part yet.

No. No, that no, that was none of that was the hard part. That was the I wanted to show you guys like the underlying belly of the game, like what it takes to go from just a casual player to a pro.

What do you think is the hardest part about this game?

Um the hardest part is transitioning. The hardest part in like a competitive pro setting, when we're scrimming or like playing league games or something, the hardest part is 100% transitioning. Like you can get shot out of your car from tons of different situations. And honestly, a lot of it in our world is taking that L and like getting shot out of the car and going back and talking and being like, you know, what could we have done to know that they were there? Like was there any way to know and predict it? Was there another way to drive? Was there, you know, you have to you have to go over and and critique yourself and there's so much hindsight in this game. So.

I think I learned a lot. I think I could be pretty good at this game. I maybe.

Like it's like if you got the hand-eye coordination to shoot, all it takes is a little bit of brain. So definitely. I think you might be good. No, 100%.
