Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer known for his introspective lyrics and acclaimed albums that often explore themes of social commentary, personal struggle, and his upbringing in Compton, California. He emerged onto the national scene with his 2011 independent album Section.80. His major label debut, good kid, m.A.A.d city (2012), achieved critical and commercial success, earning him multiple Grammy nominations. He continued to garner widespread acclaim with To Pimp a Butterfly (2015), which incorporated jazz, funk, and soul elements, and won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. Lamar's album DAMN. (2017) earned him a Pulitzer Prize for Music, making him the first non-classical or jazz artist to receive the award. He has received numerous accolades throughout his career, including 17 Grammy Awards.
