'The Kingsman' Prequel Is Taking Us Back To The Beginning!
It looks like we may have a new major movie universe on our hands. The Kingsman series just keeps on growing, and now it's returning with its third installment and taking us all the way back to the beginning. Instead of picking up again after the events of The Golden Circle, The King’s Man takes place in the early-1900s, a hundred years before the first movie, Kingsman: The Secret Service, and introduces us to the origin story of the epic intelligence agency.
It looks like the Kingsman organization didn’t get off to the most honorable of starts; it took a little lying, cheating, and stealing to establish themselves. But one thing is definitely promised -- the action will be bigger than ever. We’ve got swords and war and a swanky looking Ralph Fiennes (who you may know better as Lord Voldemort) and Rasputin??! Joining Ralph is Harris Dickerson as Conrad, a young man who has been newly recruited to the agency and whose journey is at the center The King's Man.
Sadly, we’ll be missing Eggsy (Taron Egerton) and Hart (Colin Firth) in this prequel, but don't worry, we haven’t seen the last of them yet. Director Matthew Vaughn is already shooting Kingsman 4, which he promises will wrap up their relationship. And if that’s still not enough over-the-top spy action for you, there has also been rumors of an 8-hour TV show AND a spin-off featuring the Statesmen, the American organisation across the Pond from the Kingsman.
The King’s Man premieres February 14, 2020, and I’m hoping that date hints at a little romance mixed in with the swordfighting (please don’t @ me for wanting every movie to be a rom-com)...
