The Backstreet Boys Still Got It 20 Years Later!

Boy bands, boy bands, boy bands. We just can’t get enough of them. Especially the biggest boy band of them all. That’s right, the one, the only, The Backstreet Boys. Ahhh, I’ve been fangirling since I was literally a toddler in the '90s. The crew may have peaked in the late-90s, but their success has continued throughout the years. And guess what? Backstreet’s back AGAIN (alright!).
Yup, they’re back and still doing their thing, and I am still fangirling. The band just recently dropped a new album, DNA, and are now on a DNA world tour. This week, they’ll be performing in California and at the Staples Center on Saturday, (August 3). So, yes, of course I had to cop those tickets. Are you kidding me? I’m trying to be in the crowd ugly-singing at the top of my lungs, “I want it that way… TELL ME WHY!”
Can you believe it’s been 20 years since that song came out?! I literally feel like it was just yesterday, because yes, that song is still my jam.
In 1993, this amazing group of guys formed a group that would later break records and continue on for many years to follow. In 1996, they dropped their first album, Backstreet Boys, then in 1997 dropped another album titled Backstreet’s Back, and then again in 1999 they dropped their most famous album, Millennium.
Remember this album? It was super cool. You probably even have it on CD… because remember we used to actually have CDs then? The boys looked super fly in all white with the blue background and the blue strobe light lettering of Millennium. Can’t you see, can’t you see, the boys definitely looked "larger than life".
Together, Nick, Kevin, Brian, AJ, and Howie have definitely racked up huge accomplishments and success. To this day, they are the best-selling boy band of all time and they are the only boy band to have their first ten albums on Billboard’s Top 100. Now, 20+ years later, they have a new album that reached number one and are on a 43-date world tour.
Their world tour started in July and will end in September. From the group’s Instagram posts, the concert still looks wild. Ladies and gentlemen, they still definitely got it.
Well, I’m done fangirling for the time being. I am ready to see what The Backstreet Boys' DNA is all about. Will you catch the Boys on tour?
