ICYMI: Rian Johnson Channels Agatha Christie In First Trailer For Star-Studded 'Knives Out' Murder Mystery!

The trailer for the new star-studded Rian Johnson (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) project dropped this week, and it’s got us on the tips of our toes as we wait for its theatrical debut, set for November 27. The upcoming murder mystery is called Knives Out, and it follows the investigation of the death of Harlan Thrombey, a wealthy patriarch and renowned crime novelist played by Christopher Plummer, at his 85th birthday party.

It’s understood early on that everyone is a suspect. The trailer opens up with brief close-up shots of each of our characters, and we see renowned actors and actresses such as Toni Collette, Ana de Armas, Chris Evans, Michael Shannon, Jamie Lee Curtis, Don Johnson, Katherine Langford, and Jaeden Martell for the first time. When two detectives, played by Daniel Craig and Lakeith Stanfield, take the center stage of the investigation, things start to heat up. The detective played by Craig asks the family to stay on location during the investigation, creating panic as they start to realize that this means that the killer must be among them. Later in the scene, Craig’s character concludes, “I suspect foul play, and I’ve eliminated no suspects.”

After a first look at the new Knives Out trailer, we can confidently confirm that the upcoming film has all the essentials of a classic and successful murder mystery: a crackling fire, a creepy Victorian mansion, and even two charismatic yet fumbling detectives.
