ICYMI: Netflix Is Bringing The Baby-Sitters Club to Life!

Long before there was Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte, there was the original girl gang -- Kristy, Mary Anne, Claudia, Stacey, and Dawn, AKA The Baby-Sitters Club, and now they’re coming to Netflix!

The Baby-Sitters Club is based on the hugely successful book series of the same name by author Ann M. Martin. There are now over 200 books published in the series, so it’s about time we got to see the club live on our screens! Netflix is starting with 10 episodes of the dramedy, each a half-hour long, that follows the escapades of five babysitting best friends, Kristy Thomas, Mary Anne Spier, Claudia Kishi, Stacey McGill and Dawn Shafer, as they navigate the ups and downs of their lives and business.

And the first 2 cast members have already been announced! Alicia Silverstone will take on the role of Elizabeth Thomas-Brewer, Kristy’s mother, while her love interest, Watson Brewer, will be played by Mark Feuerstein. No news yet on who will be portraying the actual baby-sitters, but we’ll keep our eyes are peeled for any and all casting news, so watch this space!
