Everything You Need To Know About The Newest "American Idol", Laine Hardy!

In case you didn’t hear, “American Idol” crowned its 17th champion and we love him already! Laine Hardy is a name you’ll be hearing for a while. The 18-year-old singer/songwriter is from Louisiana, and let’s just say, he is not new to this rodeo. He actually auditioned for “American Idol” in Season 16. He was eliminated by the judges last year, but his comeback this year made him better than ever. Check out his accidental audition for this year’s season of “American Idol”:

He came to the auditions just to play background guitar for a friend, but was asked to perform on his own anyway. Clearly, the judges love Laine Hardy. (And I don’t blame them!)

The star was born and raised country. He even learned how to play the guitar at just age 6. This season, he came back determined and confident that he could win. And he did just that -- we stan a comeback story! As our new “American Idol”, the expectations are high for Laine Hardy. However, I’m not even the slightest bit worried that he will live up to all of those expectations. I mean, just check out this performance of his song, “Flame”, right after he won the title:
