“Emily In Paris” Season 3: Where We Left Off and What We Can Expect!
Our friends on the Seine are back on Netflix for a new season of "Emily In Paris" starting December 21! A lot has happened to the Savoir family over the last year. Although Emily’s French hasn’t gotten much better, the relationships around her have become unforgettable.
As the new season approaches, let’s take a look back at the year Emily Cooper has had!
The photogenic lens on Paris sets the scene for Emily as she navigates French culture. Swept up in the opulence of her work and the romance at her doorstep, Emily has grown fond of the Parisian air -- or maybe it’s just the smell of croissants from downstairs? Emily’s debut season had her captivated by her work and the potential love interests. She showed her prowess of retaining clients by coming up with impromptu event titles and cemented her place at Savoir. She had help from work peers Julien and Luc to help get the acceptance she needed from rigid boss Sylvie.
Her love life seemed to get even more complicated after breaking up with her boyfriend from Chicago by falling in love with the guy downstairs. Gabriel is a chef who seemed to always be there at the right moment to help Emily get away with a crazy campaign idea. Although Emily and Gabriel felt they couldn’t be together, in part due to Emily’s best friend and Gabriel's girlfriend Camille, the tension between them was always palpable.
Season 2 was a real French Revolution when Emily’s old boss showed up in Paris unannounced. Keen to establish her company's philosophies on the Savoir family, she had Sylvie and gang unhappy. Sylvie left Savoir due to cultural differences and started her own company, taking the office and many of the clients with her.
On top of her work drama, Emily was confused by the men in her life. Clearly still in love with Gabriel, Emily continued to tell herself that it could never work out. Once learning of her new career prospects, she was able to face her true feelings, but all went awry when she tried to confess her love to Gabriel but found Camille living with him.
With that context, Season 3 has Emily in a tough spot. Left with the big decisions to make, we are close to finding out the answers. Does she want to work for Madeline or Sylvie? Who is Emily going to end up with? Which company will she choose? Why did she need to cut her hair off??
In the Season 3 trailer, Emily can be seen contemplating the decisions and clearly not knowing the answers. What she thought was just going to be one year abroad turned into a life that she could actually see herself living for the long haul. It is time for Emily to start making changes in her life. This season has Emily pondering the big life choices we all have to make. Emily takes calculated risks, but right now, she doesn’t know who to go with.
Cast member Lucien Laviscount continues as Alfie, the English banker with gazing eyes towards Emily. Meanwhile, Kate Walsh will continue to frequent as Madeline. "Emily in Paris" Season 3 premieres December 21 on Netflix!
