Avengers: Endgame has officially knocked James Cameron’s 2009 epic Avatar off the top spot as the highest-grossing movie of all time, subsequently making Zoe Saldana the queen of the box office and of space.

Avatar held the spot at the top of the list for 10 years, raking in an impressive $2,789.7 billion worldwide in the box office. For a moment, it seemed as if Avengers: Endgame wasn’t going to be able to take down that giant number, but due to a re-released extended version of the movie, which came out on June 28, 2019, the film's earnings went up. The current total stands at $2,790.2 billion, just barely more than what Avatar made.

Zoe Saldana starred in both films, making her the reigning Queen of the Box Office. As pointed out by fans, it has now become clear that the key to a  successful movie is Zoe Saldana. Cast Zoe Saldana and paint her a different color, and a box office success is sure to follow.

Avatar versus Endgame might as well be considered blue Zoe Saldana versus green Zoe Saldana. She is really her own biggest competition at this point.

In addition to being Queen of the Box Office, Saldana also wears the crown of Queen of Space. Avatar takes place in Pandora, an alien civilization on the moon of a gas giant in the Alpha Centauri star system, and Endgame takes place all over the galaxy.

In addition, Saldana starred as Lieutenant Uhura in the recent Star Trek reboots, a movie which also takes place all over the galaxy. With three kickass space ladies under her belt, Zoe Saldana has earned the right to call herself the Queen of Space.

While The Avengers sit at the top now, the battle for box office glory is not over, with James Cameron having announced his plans for a number of sequels to be released soon. Whether the sequels do dethrone Endgame or not, Saldana will still be sitting pretty at the top of the box office either way. Talk about Star Power!
