9 Questions We Expect Answers To In "Stranger Things 4" Volume 2!

As we all know (and if you didn’t know, you seriously need to get out of the rock you’re under!), "Stranger Things" Season 4 finally came out after a long 3-year wait last month. The highly-anticipated season thrilled fans with its new and scary storyline, but unlike any other season, Netflix announced that the season would be split into two parts, with a Volume 2 that would feature the last two episodes of the season.

After watching the first part of this season, there were so many questions that were left unanswered. Here are some that we just can’t get out of our head!

1. Will’s Painting

In the first episode of the season, in a letter to Mike, Eleven mentions a painting that Will has been working on. Will won’t tell Eleven what the painting is or who it is for, but brings it to the airport when they pick up Mike for spring break. When Mike asks about it himself, Will says "it’s just something he’s been working on." After this, we hear no mention of this painting in the rest of the season. Who’s the painting for? Is it for Mike? Is it for his mom? Hopefully we’ll find out what Will is hiding in Volume 2!

2. Nancy and Steve 2.0?

Going way back into the "Stranger Things" saga, Nancy and Steve began dating in Season 1 but broke up early on in Season 2 as the two just didn’t see eye to eye. In Season 4, however, we see that Nancy and Steve are spending a little extra time together in Hawkins. With Jonathan out of the picture (and on the otherside of the country) for the moment, it seems like some old feelings are being brought back up between the two. I mean, come on, we see the looks these two have been giving each other! Are Nancy and Steve going to get back together? Does Nancy still have feelings for Jonathan? It definitely seems like some fans want to see these two rekindle their old flame.

Meanwhile, others feel like the Nancy and Steve ship should be left in Season 2 where it ended.

3. Hopper’s Escape From Russia

At the end of Volume 1, we saw Joyce and Murray finally reunite with Hopper (can we take a moment for the Jopper reunion, so cute), but the trio still have not escaped from Russia. How will the group get back home? The plane they had crashed, and Hopper already tried once before to escape, and as we saw… it did not end too well. Will the group make it out alive? Will Hopper leave former Russian guard/friend Enzo behind or bring him to escape too? I mean, he is the whole reason Joyce was able to find out Hopper was still alive. It would be nice to see this group finally escape Russia and return back home… but to California or to Hawkins? Do they even know what’s going on in Hawkins? So many questions!

4. The “Watergate”

The Hawkins crew discovered an underwater gate to The Upside Down left open in Hawkins, and honestly, I don’t even know where to start here. First, we know that Eddie and Robin were both able to escape and return back to Hawkins, but Nancy was not so fortunate and ended up in Vecna’s trap where we once saw Max. Is Nancy stuck here just like Max was? And secondly, will Steve -- who was behind Nancy -- be able to escape or will he get trapped too? And lastly, we know that, since this gate is open, just like every other season, it needs to be closed too, right? Will Eleven be able to close this gate too, or will Vecna, better known as 001, put up a serious fight?

5. Is Somebody Major Going To Die This Season?

It seems that all characters are accounted for coming into the end of the season, but as we all know, this show doesn't hesitate to have the stories of the characters we love come to an end. This time, though, it looks like the Duffer Brothers, creators of the show, gave us a little hint (or not?) at the future of the characters in the show.

Though they don’t tell us exactly who to look out for, some fans believe that Eddie might be the one whose story doesn’t end well…

6. The Final Reunion

Throughout the entire season, the characters have been spread out in different parts of the world. With some characters in Indiana, some in California, others in Russia, and Eleven in Nevada, we can’t help but to think of what it would be like for these characters to finally come back together. Will Mike be able to tell Eleven that he loves her? Will Joyce and Hopper finally make it official? And just thinking about the moment that Eleven finds out Hopper is alive is already bringing tears to our eyes. We don’t know how or when, but we can’t wait for this big family to reunite.

7. Who Is Will hugging In The Trailer?

During the latest Volume 2 trailer, we see Will hugging not one, but two people in what seems to be a large kitchen? Will is seen crying in the arms of these two people on two different occasions, which can either be tears of joy or despair. Who are these two people that he’s hugging? Are we overthinking and it’s just his mom or brother? Or is it new characters that we will be introduced to in Volume 2? This trailer sure did not help our curiosity!

8. Max Using Herself As Bait?

Something else that we noticed in the new trailer is Max being seen back in Vecna’s world. Oh no, not again. We can conclude one of two things: She’s either (a) gotten "Vecna’d" again, or (b) she’s using herself as bait in order to take him down. Either way, we’re super concerned for Max. We hope she hasn’t been taken by Vecna again, but this scene doesn’t feel too promising..

9. Do they actually lose this time?

One of the last things we hear in the Volume 2 trailer is, “Your friends have lost.” We know that these guys have a big fight ahead of them but is it possible that they actually don’t win this time? We even hear Robin say “I have this terrible feeling…it might not work out for us this time.” Coming from her, that’s not good. We sure hope they make it out… alive, that is!

Volume 2 of "Stranger Things 4" drops on Netflix this Friday (July 1), and we will have front row seats to see how the Duffer Brothers end this crazy season!
