5 Mother's Day Gifts Ideas While In Quarantine!
Mother’s Day (May 10) is approaching, and this year is a lot different than most due to quarantine. While you might not be able to take your mother out for that Mother’s Day brunch you typically do, or run to the store to buy her that outfit she’s been wanting, you can still make her day special and give her something she will love!
Here are 5 Mother’s Day gifts that you can give even in quarantine:
1. Flowers
Even with many shops closed, there are still some florists that are open! If there isn’t a florist open near you, or you can’t afford an expensive bouquet right now, most food stores have a section of assorted plants and bouquets.
You can get
her favorite flower, or flowers in her favorite color. Flowers are
always a great gift idea and always readily available. If you can’t
find any, you can go pick some wildflowers (while respecting social
distancing!). After all, it’s the thought that counts. And if
you’re unable to see your mother due to social distancing measures,
you can leave the flowers on her doorstep.
2. Cooking for Her
If you live with your mother and were hoping to take her out for a Mother’s Day brunch that is now canceled, you can still give her the experience by cooking for her at home! Whether it’s breakfast in bed or getting dressed up for a nice meal at the dining room table, you can find a way to still have brunch.
If you don’t want to go the breakfast in bed or brunch route, you can cook her favorite meal for dinner! If you don’t live with your mother and can’t see her because of social distancing, you can order her favorite takeout for her to enjoy, and if you want to make it extra special, you can video chat while enjoying your meals at a safe difference!
3. At Home Spa Day
Here’s another one for those of you currently living with your mother! If she is a fan of the nail salon or spa, she is probably missing it with the lockdown. Give her the spa experience by painting her nails, giving her a facemask, running her a bath (if you have a bath bomb or essential oils, you can add those in), and just pampering her for the day.
There are tons of homemade facemask and bath bomb recipes out there; you can look for one using her favorite ingredients! You can also order some fun spa essentials online. If you don’t live with her, you can order them to her house so she can give herself the perfect spa day!
4. A Box of her Favorite Things
A super simple and cute gift idea is a box filled with her favorite things! You can fill it with her favorite candy, snacks, drinks, family photos, makeup, skin care, and anything else you can find at your local food market or drugstore. You can even fill it with some essentials so she doesn’t have to run out to the store.
Again, if you’re unable to give this gift directly to her, you can leave it in her mailbox or at her front door. And don’t forget to include a card telling her how much you love and miss her!
5. Spending quality time together
If you are still struggling to find the perfect gift, you can spend some quality time with her! Turn off your phones, pull out some puzzles and games, turn on your favorite show, or bake your favorite dessert together! Even being stuck in the house together, we sometimes forget to appreciate each other’s presence and do things together. Spend this Mother’s Day doing some of her favorite activities with her.
If you’re unable to spend time together in person, you can spend some time video chatting, catching up on life, and enjoying each other’s company at a safe distance!
