Zayn Malik seeking anxiety advice from Adele - report
Singer Zayn Malik has reportedly sought help from fellow pop star Adele on how to manage his crippling anxiety attacks.
Both musicians have publicly confessed in the past to suffering from debilitating nervous breakdowns ahead of shows that left them unable to perform.
Just last weekend (11-12Jun16), Zayn pulled out of his gig at
London's Wembley Stadium at the last minute due to an anxiety
episode and it's claimed he has now sought advice from Adele on how
she managed to overcome the problem.
“Zayn’s management are doing everything they can to help him
because its having a major impact on his career," a source tells
U.K. newspaper the Sunday Mirror. “I believe (he's) been in touch
with Adele’s manager Johnathan Dickins about it because Adele got a
lot of help with panic attacks and stage fright - and look at her
now.
“They’re (Zayn's management team) pulling in people who can help
him because he can overcome this and if he’s going to stay in music
and singing he absolutely has to get it under control."
“After the issue last weekend it has become a matter of urgency,"
the source added.
Zayn dropped out of boy band One Direction one year before
launching his solo career with the release of his debut album Mind
of Mine in March (16).
And while he was with the pop group, it's claimed his anxiety
attacks prevented him from functioning well both on and off the
stage.
“During One Direction’s tours Zayn used to see the crowd and melt,"
the insider noted. "He’d sweat, moan, complain, and he had to have
a smoke, and a few beers beforehand to calm him.
“I’m sure that was a big factor in his decision to leave One
Direction. He woke up one morning and just could no longer deal
with the fear.
“Touring and appearances was always his least favorite thing.”
