will.i.am suffered a travel scare on Wednesday (30Nov11) when the Black Eyed Peas star's flight from Hong Kong was briefly grounded due to a safety concern.

The I Gotta Feeling hitmaker was preparing for take off onboard a plane bound for the States when the pilot announced a problem with the aircraft - prompting the rapper to pray for his life.

In a series of tweets, will.i.am wrote, "The airplane was about to take flight in hong kong and the pilot stopped 1second before flight...777 jumbo jets stop fast...i prayed...

"The pilot said the cargo door was left open & they realized just seconds B4 (before) lift off...'my angels & my grandmas prayers keep me safe'..."

The plane issue was quickly resolved, and will.i.am has praised the pilot for spotting the open door before it became a serious problem.

He added, "All safe now...about to fly...12hrs (hours)...(This is when I sleep)...good night... this pilot should (be) applauded and celebrated...he kept us safe...LOVE and LIGHT".
