will.i.am borrowed melody from U2 song

Record label boss Jimmy Iovine has told how will.i.am lifted from a U2 track to write The Black Eyed Peas' megahit I Gotta Feeling.
The Interscope chief claims the rapper borrowed a melody from U2 song I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight after he produced material for the Irish band's album No Line On The Horizon.
However, will.i.am ensured there were no hard feelings with Bono
and his bandmates by telling the rockers they had inspired his club
anthem.
Iovine explains, "I sent will.i.am over to the studio to do some
remixes on I'll Go Crazy. He works on them for two weeks, comes
back and writes I Gotta Feeling.
"The chords are U2 chords, 100 per cent. Will even told them."
