Tyga settles last of jewelry debt as he faces new lawsuit
Rapper Tyga is paid in full in his lawsuit settlement over a long-running jewelry debt.
Bosses at the Jason of Beverly Hills jewelry store hired lawyers earlier this year (16) in a bid to compel the 26-year-old hip-hop star to pay the $208,330 they claim he owes, after a judge ordered him to pay up in 2014.
The outstanding invoice related to a diamond Cuban link chain and a
diamond pantheon watch he borrowed in 2012, but failed to
return.
The Rack City hitmaker, real name Micheal Ray Stevenson, was forced
to sit for a deposition in the case in October (16), when he was
quizzed about his earnings and spending habits, and his girlfriend
Kylie Jenner was also due to testify about the various extravagant
gifts she had been given by her man.
Tyga saved the reality star from the hassle after recently agreeing
to settle the matter with two hefty payments.
His lawyer appeared in court on 1 November (16) to reveal the
rapper had already handed over $100,000 , plus interest, to the
owners of Jason of Beverly Hills, while the balance was due to be
paid by 17 November (16).
According to TMZ.com, Tyga made good on his promise before the
deadline, putting the dispute behind him once and for all.
However, his legal woes are far from over - last week
(ends18Nov16), Tyga was served with another lawsuit as he arrived
at Penthouse nightclub in West Hollywood on 18 November (16) to
celebrate his 27th birthday.
In video footage obtained by TMZ.com, the process server can be
seen approaching Tyga and handing him the papers as he makes his
way from his car to the club entrance. The hip-hop star's security
guards promptly pushed the court official away, but not before the
rapper was served.
Details about the new lawsuit have yet to be released.
