Taylor Swift shares Scottish heritage at Glasgow gig

Taylor Swift opened up about her Scottish heritage during a gig in Glasgow on Tuesday night (23Jun15), sharing a letter from her father about her Celtic roots and telling the audience, "I am one of you".

The pop superstar headed to her boyfriend Calvin Harris' homeland for a performance at the city's SSE Hydro venue, and during the show, she professed her love for Scotland. She also shared an email message from her dad who urged her to tell her Scottish fans about her family connection to the country.

Swift told the audience, "In the subject line (of dad's email) it said 'Tell Scotland this' and in the email he said our whole family is from Scotland and you have to tell them that. So I am one of you, and I'm proud because this crowd is amazing... I happen to love Scottish people, personally."

Swift is currently dating Scottish DJ Harris, who hails from Dumfries, a town around 60 miles (96 kilometres) from Glasgow.
