Taylor Swift is New York's tourism ambassador
Pop star Taylor Swift has been unveiled as New York City's new tourism ambassador.
The Love Story singer has teamed up with the region's official tourism organisation, NYC & Company, to promote a global campaign to bring more visitors to the Big Apple.
The drive has been launched in conjunction with Swift's new single,
the aptly titled Welcome To New York.
Fred Dixon, president and CEO of NYC & Company, says, "New York
City is a truly welcoming city, and Welcome To New York perfectly
exemplifies the unrivalled hospitality, energy and excitement that
can be felt throughout all five boroughs. We are pleased to work
with Taylor Swift to welcome visitors from around the world, as she
was welcomed this year, and couldn't have asked for a better
synergy between Taylor and NYC & Company to tell our story about
what makes New York City, New York City."
Swift, who recently moved to New York City, will share her Big
Apple experiences with fans as part of the campaign and she will
also ring in 2015 in the city as a performer on annual TV
extravaganza Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve on 31 December
(14).
