Steven Tyler had new Hawaiian home 'christened'

Veteran rocker Steven Tyler had his new house in Hawaii blessed by a local priest to rid the property of any bad spirits.

The Aerosmith star travelled to Maui after his Christmas (11) proposal to girlfriend Erin Brady and they had a special ceremony performed at the site of his new home with a religious official, known as a "great kahuna".

Steven Tyler says, "I gave her the ring on Christmas Day and the next morning we flew to Hawaii and we were out getting our house smudged, what's it called there, with a great kahuna? Christened, in a manner of speaking...

"There's always some island person that comes and blesses the house, gets rid of all the, you know, whatever was left over from there before..."
