Star Wars bosses did not approve Amy Schumer magazine shoot
Star Wars bosses have distanced themselves from a raunchy photoshoot in GQ magazine featuring the movie's famous robots in bed with comedienne Amy Schumer.
Pictures from the Star Wars-themed shoot emerged this week (beg13Jul15) showing the Inside Amy Schumer star in a number of risque poses with the famous characters.
The shoot includes images of Schumer, dressed as Carrie Fisher's
Princess Leia, sucking the finger of android C-3PO, putting a
lightsaber into her mouth, and sitting topless in a bed smoking a
cigarette next to C-3PO and his droid pal R2-D2.
Star Wars fans have taken to Twitter.com to express their shock and
disgust at the characters' involvement in the shoot, and a
representative for Lucasfilm and Disney, who own the franchise,
released statements insisting they did not give permission for the
stunt.
A tweet on the official Star Wars page reads, "Lucasfilm and Disney
did not authorize, participate in or condone the inappropriate use
of our characters in this manner."
