Sky Ferreira to star in Edgar Wright movie 'Baby Driver'
Sky Ferreira has been cast in director Edgar Wright's new movie Baby Driver, alongside actors Jamie Foxx and Kevin Spacey.
The movie, due to be released in 2017, is a crime comedy about a music-loving getaway driver, played by Divergent actor Ansel Elgort, who gets into hot water after a robbery backfires.
The 23-year-old singer is set to have a busy year ahead bridging
the field between music and drama. Announcing on Instagram this
weekend she revealed she will also star in indie thriller flick
Rosy, by new director Jessica Manafort, as well as another crime
movie, with Nicholas Cage, called The Trust which premiered at the
South By South West (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas (13Mar16).
"It just got announced that I'm going to be in Baby Driver directed
by @edgar_wright & Rosy directed by Jess Manafort. The Trust with
Nicolas Cage & @electrice will premiere tomorrow at SXSW. So yeah.
Lots going on this week," she wrote, captioning a picture of
herself wearing 60s style sunglasses and reading a newspaper.
Sky is also working on her new album "Masochism" which is due out
this summer. Her new album is rumoured to be a more aggressive
follow up to her 2013 debut release, which caused controversy for
featuring risque artwork of the young singer posing topless.
The star also features on Primal Screams new track Where the Light
Gets In, taken from their new album Chaosmosis due for release
later this month (18Mar16).
