Skrillex gig cancelled over plane trouble
Electronica star Skrillex has called off a concert in Hong Kong after his flight to the city was cancelled on Wednesday (30Sep15).
The DJ was set to perform at the AsiaWorld-Expo venue on Wednesday night, but he was left stranded in Vietnam when his plane was grounded due to mechanical issues.
The musician also missed a later flight and was unable to make
alternative arrangements to get to Hong Kong in time for the
show.
In a post on Facebook.com, Skrillex writes, "I wish I didn't have
to deliver this painful message but the show tonight in Hong Kong
at Asiaworld Expo (sic) has been canceled due to multiple flight
delays and plane issues.
"Our flight out of Vietnam was grounded due to a mechanical issue,
the backup left while we awaited news of the impact of the delay.
By that point there were no other options that could get us there
in time.
"We looked into every possible way to make this happen, money was
not an issue. But red tape in Vietnam won the day. I would have
spent anything to get to the show, nothing was going to stop us but
we just couldn't come up with an option. I'm so sorry... This was
completely out of our control. So upset about this... Please know
we tried absolutely everything we could to get there."
The Grammy Award winner has indicated the show will be
rescheduled.
