Simon Pegg nursing ankle injury

British actor Simon Pegg has undergone an X-ray on his ankle after sustaining a painful injury during a trip to Canada.

The Shaun of the Dead star hurt himself on Sunday (21Apr13) and subsequently revealed he needed special assistance from staff at Air Canada who helped him board a flight back to London.

In a series of posts on his Twitter.com page, he wrote, "I rolled my ankle tonight... Ow my foot!!... I'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Air Canada for getting this limping fool to the gate. I need to go Wolverine on metatarsal (sic) now!"

On Tuesday (23Apr13), he returned to the social networking website to reveal he had sought medical advice for the injury and was also suffering from a painful elbow, writing, "Having my fourth production funded X-ray in four months. Must stop breaking bones... Least I'm rocking a Dead Zone style walking stick.. My elbow's all swollen up too. I'm falling apart. Years. Mileage."

Pegg also posted a picture of his injured foot encased in a special medical boot.
