TV and music mogul Simon Cowell has launched a new project to find the next Menudo.
The former American Idol judge has teamed up with executives at Spanish language network Univision to find the "ultimate Latino boy band".
Wannabes aged from 14 upwards and who live in the U.S. and Puerto
Rico can audition online for La Banda, which will premiere next
year (15).
Cowell says, "I'm very excited about this show. There is a huge
amount of talent out there and La Banda is going to give five guys
the opportunity of a lifetime."
La Banda will be hosted by Univision personality Alejandra
Espinoza, and the winning quintet will land a recording contract
with Sony Music Latin and Cowell's Syco Music, where their
labelmates will include One Direction.
