Sick Lana Del Rey axes show

Lana Del Rey cancelled a concert in Russia with just hours to spare on Thursday (06Jun13) after contracting a throat infection.

The Video Games hitmaker was due to play for fans in St. Petersburg, but doctors advised the star to take a two-day break to recover from illness.

A post on the singer's website on Thursday reads, "Lana del Rey regrets to inform her fans in St. Petersburg that she has a throat infection and the doctors have advised her to take 48 hours rest on medication, in order to fully recover. It is therefore necessary to postpone tonight's concert and the management and promoter are working on rescheduling the date to Wednesday, June 19th."

Del Rey is next due to take to the stage in Moscow on Saturday (08Jun13).
