Sharon Stone appeals for a date

Veteran actress Sharon Stone is throwing herself back into the dating scene now her children are older.

The Basic Instinct star, 56, is mother to three adopted sons - Roan, 14, Laird, nine, and Quinn, eight - and she admits romance was a low priority for her while her boys were small, but she is now sure they are old enough to understand if she has a boyfriend.

Stone, who divorced her husband Phil Bronstein in 2004, tells Extra, "I am available for dating... What's happened is my kids have reached the age where I feel comfortable to date. I didn't want to date when they were little... who needs a bunch of people running in and out of their lives? Now I feel comfortable dating."
