Selena Gomez splits dress at Oscars after-party

Pop star Selena Gomez endured a wardrobe malfunction when her stunning silver gown split at the seams during an Oscars after-party on Sunday night (28Feb16).

The Come and Get It singer was one of the many celebrities who attended the famous Vanity Fair bash, where she also participated in the publication's annual portrait session.

Gomez and other stars such as her pals Taylor Swift and Lorde, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, Lady Gaga and new Oscar winner Brie Larson all posed for pictures at the pop-up photo studio inside the event.

In her published shot, Gomez precariously sits upon a small table in her silver, shimmering, floor-length gown.

She shared the glamorous shot on her Instagram page on Monday (29Feb16), but also revealed she had a slight wardrobe malfunction - and burgers were to blame.

"Thank you (photographer) @markseliger @vanityfair for the purty (sic) pic," she wrote. "AND @nicolasghesquiere @louisvuitton for always taking care of me! Love you so - I legit ripped my dress right after this shot. I blame (fast food chain) In N Out."

While Gomez didn't attend the actual ceremony, she did sing the praises of Spotlight director Tom McCarthy, who walked away with two Oscars for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay.

McCarthy is directing Gomez in the upcoming Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, which the singer is also executive producing. Gomez wished the filmmaker good luck on Twitter prior to the ceremony, writing, "SO excited! Tom is going to bring this to life in a unbelievable way. good luck at the oscars!"
