Selena Gomez makes Instagram comeback on Thanksgiving

Selena Gomez marked Thanksgiving on Thursday (24Nov16) by returning to Instagram after a three-month break.

The 24-year-old singer, who has been open with her battle with anxiety and depression in recent months, hadn't posted on the photo-sharing website for the past 14 weeks.

But she made her comeback on Thanksgiving to share a moving post alongside a snap of herself with a large group of fans.

“I have a lot to be thankful for this year..." Selena wrote. "My year has been the hardest yet most rewarding one yet. I’ve finally fought the fight of not ‘being enough’.

"I have only wanted to reflect the love you guys have given me for years and show how important it is to take care of YOU. By grace through faith. Kindness always wins. I love you guys. God bless."

Back in August (16), Selena told People that she had made the decision to take a break to focus on her health struggles.

“As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways,” she told the outlet. “I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges.

“I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off. Thank you to all my fans for your support."

Selena wasn't the only musical star to celebrate Thanksgiving on her social media page.

Shakira had perhaps the most unusual post as she shared a snap of herself holding a turkey on a leash, writing: "Happy Thanksgiving!"

Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez shared a sultry selfie, captioning it: "Snuggled up trying to look cute while I cant move from my food coma... or the innocent look I have before I go in for thirds...you pick...lol. #PuertoRicanThanksgiving #Thanksgiving"

Bruno Mars posed in a bubble bath for his picture, writing: "If this don't look thankful I don't know what does. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. #UltraBlessed #24kMagic #SweetPotatoFly."

Pregnant Ciara took a picture of husband Russell Wilson and her son Future, captioning it: "Grateful For My 2 Angels and Our Growing Family #HappyThanksgiving."

And Lady Gaga posted a video of herself getting a turkey out of the oven, writing: "Happy Thanksgiving beautiful (America emoji). I'm grateful to be alive on this (earth emoji) w/ u (with you). Enjoy loved ones today & eat w/ (with) gratitude. God Bless xoxo, Joanne."
