Selena Gomez hits back at online bully

Selena Gomez has taken aim at a cyber-bully for writing a hateful comment to her online.

The Come and Get It hitmaker rarely responds to rumours and messages on social media but was forced to react to a girl who wished cancer on the singer and her family in a comment on Instagram.com.

Gomez decided to teach the fan a lesson and posted her reply publicly on the photo-sharing website on Sunday (13Jul14), alongside the caption, "Honestly, I don't speak up much because it's simply always taken out of context. But I don't take bullying well. I have seen too much to not say anything."

In a message to the female who made the remark, the singer writes, "The comment you left about cancer was absurd. How distasteful of a young woman. I have gone through that battle with fans and family members. You can dislike someone but to wish something that could happen to you or your family is uncalled for sweetheart. You won't be winning 'anyone's' heart that way. Trust me. Educate yourself a tad more. God bless love. Be an amazing woman. You're beautiful."
